Martyrdom is forbidden on most CoD servers which means people don’t really like it.
Had to read a bit about CoD…
There is a hardcore mode, where you do not have visual aid to see the nade. So if for example your teammate kills someone, and you walk later in that area, you could not have heard the nade dropping. And so its more a random kill.
Else people just don’t see the point in a perk which you cannot use when alive.
Thats about what I learnt fomr forums about CoD and martyrdom.

Another issue with the CoD version is that it was automatic (at least in MW, I haven’t played the more recent ones), you didn’t get to decide if / when the nade would drop. So clearly there was no skill involved whatsoever, all kills were pure luck. It also happened to be a major source of TK when FF was on :mad:
At least DB’s version is controllable, so you won’t blow up the teammates caping the objective with you on FF servers. And like Ashog said, you need to time the delivery to be effective, otherwise you’re just throwing away the possibility of a revival for a random chance at a lucky kill.
