Difficult to undestand for none english speaking players

Hi

I really like the game and want to help to make it better. For the new players who are not native english speakers it is little difficult to understand the terms used in game. In the begining (lvl 1-3) it was quite confusing to understand. If you go more into it, everything is understandable, but it could be more clear and to the point in order to get more players.

What is a MERC? If you use google translate it doesn’t really know how to translate it. More clear alternative? Champion, Hero, Warrior or somehting else.

Loadout? Maybe it is well know term but for me it was totally new. There is game called Loadout. But loadout card? Again, for the first time player it is confusing. Many friends asked, what is a loadout in Dirty bomb?
Better alternative? Weapon cards?

Trinket is actually well understood term. But not very common word for none english speakers. Didn’t really understand what they were until lvl 6 :slight_smile: Sorry I don’t have shooting game background. Only played Wolf ET.

If you get to level 6 then everything is understandable. But at the begining it was quite confusing. I don’t know if the game is targeting none english speakers, but the terms in game are little difficult to understand at the begining.

Didn’t want to criticize. Just trying to help.

I guess that’s understandable and since it only took you and your buddies just few levels (6 is quite fast to get to thankfully), it is to be expected I’d say :slight_smile: By the way, welcome to Bombin’!

Merc is something shortened from “Mercenary” which should be known term by most proper translators and dictionaries. That’s something that could be worded in the long form instead of short one if anything. Your suggestions (hero, champion) don’t exactly fit the theme of the game but that’s just my opinion.

Loadouts…eugh I’d wish they would be gone altogether but fine… are also referred as “cards” in couple of places if I remember correctly, so they shouldn’t be such an issue either. They’re simply something you slap on your mercenary to change their weapons and augments, “equipment cards” if you will, maybe they’re just simpliest to be mention as cards.

All in all, good to see side of someone for who English is not that fluent to understand. Maybe later on we’re getting more localization (ability to change in-game language) as the time goes, but such definitely should not be high in the priority list now.

Not a native speaker but everything was clear to me. I think you just have a general problem with the language.

You can change the language (not all are supported). But don’t change it to a language you do not know. It will be difficult to change it back (I know from experience).

but they arent heros, warriors, they are MERCS.
getting to level 6 is like 1h of playing, i dont get what you mean, you cant learn language in 1h

i didnt had any problem with that, if you dont know english maybe you know other language

merc came from mercenaries its just that people are lazy ro write it all for loadout personnaly i dont really care its just a card and knowing what it do even if you dont understand the meaning is nice ( like wards in league most of people dont know the meaning)

Merc is a shortcut for mercenary. It’s somebody who fights for money. There’s even a video about Dirty Bomb which only talks about making money as mercs. They can’t change the name because then it wouldn’t be what they are

Loadout is actually an understandable word, almost every fps game has it

Trinket is actually an unusual word, to be honest I still don’t know what it actually means. But it’s not important, you will find out after you get 1 and see that you can attach it to weapons
