This has been bugging me lately.
It goes like this: When Gen 3 cards gets released, and being the completioninst that I am, how should I get them?
NOTE: By “RNG’ing”, I mean crafting bronze cards.

I’d have to do the math, but it seems like buying the bundles would be the way to go. Otherwise you’re just endlessly crafting cards, which knowing RNG in this game, won’t go so well.
When gen 3 is released they will have changed the crafting system. Probably some changes to RNG too.
Hmmm…
If I’d bought complete set of 9 cards, then each one would be worth 11 111,111 credits, instead of 17 500 credit, each sold separately.
Also, other thing to consider. If I’d keep crafting for all 9 variants of bronze cards, just for one merc, then would it surpass 100K credits or not? What are the odds?
Even though buying is quicker, rng feels slightly more rewarding once you get all of them and it gives you something to work for.
When Gen3 is released they better have reworked crafting and hopefully split skins/loadouts. For now I’ll just ditch crafting and buy the loadout if I feel I need it/can afford it. I reckon you should do that too.
Not counting on any overhaul, but one can always dream.
embrace your savior RNGesus
going steady 100k will feel too much like a grind
I’d start with crafting, you will get lots right off the bat that you won’t have (since they will at that point all be Gen 3 cards), then just buy the missing loadouts with credits in the shop.

RNG may be safe and certain, for like first 4-5 cards per merc, but after that, the chances go to hell ;p And it may cost more than it’s worth…
If you have enough crafting material, you can make 66 bronze craft with 100K, which is about 7 cards for each loadouts. The probability that you miss at least one of the 9 cards with that much cards is pretty low. On statistics, you’ll have all the cards after 66 craft with a 99,5% of success (+/-1%)
And with 80% of success, you’ll have all the card within 33 tries, then it will cost only 50k
I hope I made things clear.
(if someone want to go further, I only did statistics with 10000 tests, to have an error of 1%, but not probabilities as I couldn’t remember the right way to do it)

Thats why I said to get the rest off the shop after rolling a few through crafting…
