Whats the difference between the two? I know Bethesda is the publisher but what does that mean?
Difference between SD and Bethesda?
You don’t know what the difference is between a publisher and a developer?
dude, use a dictionary
View it from a more traditional definition.
SD is the developer or author. The write the story.
Bethesda is the publisher so they take the story, produce the book and sell it to people.
Things get a little muddy beyond that though because Bethesda actually pay SD to write the book in advance, so have some control over what is going to be in the book. Sometimes it’s worse than that though and the publisher actually buys out the developer, calls more shots and ultimately eats the developer from the inside out. It’s all very horrific! (see IW vs Activision)
Basically though, look to the developer’s track record rather than publisher if you want to gauge performance and quality.
And there you go…
Hopefully this thread can die now, one would think that things like this are a common knowledge (they aren’t just video game terms).
Its always interesting to read peoples reactions to a question, when they feel that everybody in the world should already know the answer.
If the OP upsets you by asking a question YOU feel he should already know then answer to, then dont post berating him, dont post at all.
I don’t think anyone here can honestly say they know everything… but I bet they know how to use google
I agree google is an excellent way of finding information, but a forum is a place of discussion. I have often found that asking a question on a forum will provide unique information that google simply cant easily offer.
The knowledge of a forums user base can be incredible
