Devs- Brink PC- Zoom Sensitivity Ratio

(Snypr18) #1

Splash Damage devs, can you please patch Brink to allow us to change zoom sensitivity ratios? I cant stand how terribly slow my mouse sensitivity becomes when using different scopes. Every time I switch between red dot, coga, or the sniper scope I have to adjust to a new weird mouse sensitivity.

It would be nice if this was something we could change in the options. Currently Im using adjusted iron sights on everything I can to bypass the weird sensitivty reduction when using ADS.

At the very least, can you implement something like the “g_ironSightSensitivityModifier” command in the console?

Does anyone else here want to see these options?

I find it hard to believe that I am the only pc player bothered by this.

(Ulgrim) #3

Bothers me a lot too.

(Wepohn) #4

I still haven’t played the game and although I really want to I wont be able to play it for 3/4 months (lets hope people are still playing)

Anyway I’ve always felt that zoom sensitivity should be customisable. I’d like to see it by the time I get round to playing.

(veganzombiez) #5

Are you manually adjusting the sensitivity each time? It’d probably be easier (tho still annoying) to just bind some keys to toggle the sensitivity. Like, F9 for sensitivity 6, and f10 for sensitivity 3.

Putting

g_ironSightSensitivityModifier “1.5”

in the autoexec.cfg will do the trick. No more worries

(ithurtsus) #7

Is there anyway to change this on multiplayer? It reverts to the normal slow speed in multiplayer. Apparently the ability to control your mouse movement is considered an exploit now?

(PG13) #8

I would like to bump this. The zoom sens on snipers especially is painfully slow. There’s no reason not to allow a zoom sensitivity command.

(loneB) #9

Yes, I had to revert back to red dot or iron sights instead of scopes because of how slow it is.

I also believe g_ironSightSensitivityModifier “1.5” did not help.

Would be a nice addition.

Doesn’t work

And +1 for this suggestion, it’s a real pain. In DOD:S I use a 1.25 multiplyer for zoomed in and it works great, really annoying that when ironsighted your sensitivity is effectively different from whatever you’ve set it at.

(RaKeD) #11

Great suggestion! I would love to see this feature in a future release.

Pro players will love this! Everybody else too.

The sensitivity scales with how much you zoom in. g_ironSightSensitivityModifier "1.5 cancels the difference for regular iron sights and red dot scopes.

The coga, green eye and sniper scope zoom in further, hence you will still notice a reduction of your sens.

(Angry Machine) #13

/signed.

This is annoying as hell, I’ll quit this game for this.

(Ragoo) #14

This does indeed sound horrible and easy to fix enough to justify a quick fix by the devs

(Kazang) #15

Yeah I agree with this.

Sniping is virtually impossible, the game is fast, which is a good thing but the sensitivity while zoomed is too low to be able to physically track players movement. Nevermind how off putting it is to have the sensitivity differ so wildly when zoomed in.

Rfiles are underpowered enough as it is compared to smg without being hampered further by zoom settings.

Why it’s so low by default is pretty confusing to me, do people actually like it so unresponsive?

(PG13) #16

bumping this again.

(Fasimba) #17

SplashDamage! un-cheat g_ironSightSensitivityModifier please!
this is not a cheat in any means! (wondering why you guys allowed to change s_volume or gamma in MP, can be considered as cheat as well  )

this is really annoying for those who play with low-med sens (on PC of course!), to use coga.
