/devmap mapname and missing thereof

(Dmayrion) #1

I have followed every instruction in this tutorial: http://www.spyjuice.com/1st_room.htm, except the mutliplayer script. I haven’t found out where to put that (also, where wouldyou put that script?) yet after I type sv_pure 0 and then /devmap practice (that’s the name of the map), it says “Can’t find map maps/practice.bsp”. It says that even when I am looking at the file in C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\maps. What am I doing wrong?

(kamikazee) #2

Really sure that there is a .bsp in your maps directory?

(EB) #3

concerning the script:

…I understand that there is a learning curve…take what you’re reading, sentence by sentence.

(Chain-iT) #4

maybe he means script_multiplayer?

(EB) #5

The script_multiplayer entity should be put into any open space of the map. (do not put it into the terrain or a wall)

The .bsp file is in this folder, which I believe is the right one: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\maps

Also, after I added the script, doing what was just typed by EB, still had same problem.

Ok, this thing is being random. It still didn’t work after I did those changes, but between the last post I did and now, it will go to the loading screen and then stop while the bar is full. ET stops responding after that.

I followed their instructions, and reinstalled GtkRadiant 1.5. It worked up to the loading screen, then it froze. When I tried it again, said “Can’t find map maps/practice.bsp”. So I typed /fdir prac and it gave no files. When I did this just before I went to the loading screen, it gave me ALL the things with prac in its name. The folders, and the various files. I did nothing to them between when it froze, and when I tried it again.

Bah, didn’t finish my sentence. (continued from where I left off) and when I tried it again, it said it couldn’t be found.

My fault, I skipped a line or two appearently. Didn’t add a few things I needed to.
