Dev Stream Wrap Up (1AUG2016)

Guest: Exedore, Lead game designer.

This stream focused on what is coming in the next few months as to what we can expect for updates, and explaing what exactly they are working/plan to work on, while also explaining more in detail of the “Summer Squash” which was announced here: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/31741/summer-squash-le-video#latest and here: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/31717/summer-squash#latest

Execution mode: Nothing new is planned for execution, as the devs are shifting focus back to obj/stopwatch. There will still be some optimization and bug fixes, but that is all for now

25 Aug - 1 Sep reducing cost of crafting kits by 40% 20% fragment recyle increase, and 20% ccrafting cost decrease

1 hour credit boosters will be completely removed

new prices for all boosters:

  • 3h Credits Booster – Reduced to $0.79 (from $1.49)
  • 6h Credits Booster – Reduced to $1.49 (from $2.99)
  • 12h Credits Booster – Reduced to $2.49 (from $5.99)
  • 18h Credits Booster – Reduced to $3.49 (from $7.99)

Removing 3 hr credit boosters, one hour credit boosters, and 5 regular cases will be removed from arsenal crates, this update should happen this week, so if you have arsenal crates wait until the update to open them, because they will be updated with the new changes.

Summer Squash: Halting feature production to focus on bugs, to make a more stable build, which will be easier to improve game performance. When everything is working properly it is easier to adjust maps.

Aiming to fix 100% of map bugs as they are more manageable, maps share some assets so when something one one map gets fixed, it might break something in another map. The map fixes will all be in one major update towards the end of the event, so while it will be a major download of several gigabytes, it will be one download rather than several.

Explanation of different types of bugs, how they are rated, which determines what they focus on first.

b[/b]Absolute must fix: game breaking bugs i.e. matchmaking bugs
b[/b]Major issues: auras healing station, or paper stack (all collision bugs) not game breaking, but major issues
b[/b]Minor issues: never gameplay something that breaks but does not affect major gameplay like character mesh clipping.

Release plan: The summer squash will be several undetermined updates. The first update will be focusing on already specified bugs, which will determine how long each update will take.

Current Test Fixes: These will be included in the first update, and are currently test fixes, so are waiting on confirmation/approval to be released into the public game. The fixes included in this first update are:

  • Aura’s healing station glow staying on the ground when a health station is no longer present
  • crashing in post game lobbies on ranked(some players could crash the server)
  • teamchat tab added to ranked lobbies
  • people unable to join lobbies in ranked
  • inconsistent rules for overtime in stopwatch
  • servers saying that they are full when they have a slot open
  • lots of matchmaking fixes(ranked has been a major focus for bug fixes)
  • reworked the c4
  • thread sync automatically set to on
  • sticky bombs, naders grenades/martydom not dispersing stoker’s molotov fire
  • blocker carriage collision on an invisible wall/ random debris
  • Objective carryables, drug samples, virus, emp charges, creating a duplcate when dropped/switching to other weapons, i.e. trying to swap you your weapons, but still having the carryable in your hands despite having dropped it.

But isn’t that option hindering performance? My game ran terribly until I turned it off.

(aminuseternal) #3

yep, the game was automatically turning it on, so it will not do that anymore with the next update.

Really, Thank you very much.

I am always translating this Dev stream Round-Up for my community even after Faraleth left, so keep up the good work buddy!

It somehow works opposite if your computer is over good enough to handle this game.

Always have to turn this thing off when I’m playing in GTX960 environment.
