click on the editor’s toolbar “VIEW” and then “FILTER” and then choose which to type of whatever you’d like to not see!!!
yea ctrl+d is the 2nd most used command by me, second to shit+click it also allows you to move faster thoughout your map (its its very large)
of course you move faster with shit+click… it is some sort of recoil effect
SCNR
ohhh crap sorry, i should said that in a different order, i meant to say when you used the filter for detail brushes it allows you to move faster in a bigger map, because it draws less, which is what i like casue my computer is S-L-O-W… lol yea shift-click dosent do anything for speed… but you all knew that :eek3:
TBH I (and I guess Shaderman too) was making fun of the little typo (“shit” instead of “shift”)
I was just kidding… nothing more…
I seem to get it I think, all walls, ceilings and floors should be structural. All of the equipment like computers, and decorations should be detail. Right.?
damn…
Ok…
if u have abox room… and another box room conected by a corridor it makes aproximately 2 portals or so…when u add something to one room anything and it is structural this thing wil propably make more portals…
MORE…
If you make the same two rooms and the corridor out of all detail brushes and compile the map… you will get leaks… cause the map must be sealed with structural brushes…
to get more answers ask… or search… not only here… GOOGLE, other mapping places… put sum sweat in it pls…
So if I should make a map with only rooms, like an underground basement, I should just make all the walls , ceilings and floors structural, and all the other things should be detail.
It is a nice guideline, but mapping is no exact science.
It can sometimes help to make structural caulk brushes to seal off the map and make the visible walls detail.
Go by the “default” guideline if you do not know what I mean though.
yep…
for exemple…
I have a big building… 6 walls 4 sides scieling and flor…
and I attached an entrence completely detailed… and inside I have a detailed corridor…
But most important from this…
Detailed brushes always leak…
so they need structurals to seel the whole map… either caulk or textured…
Good for you would be testing what works and what else works better… try to map… get ideas… after a while u will be good at detailed/structural brushes and will have other problems…
