Desert Domination

This is my first working map and would like some feedback. The gaming type of this map tries to resemble that of the battlefield series of games as in capture and hold the flags. I am a man of few words and this map is still unfinished so send feedback :cool:

  • map ceiling needs to be higher
  • buildings need some stuff in them
  • shadows need correcting

*I am not too good with lighting
*I cant find enough furniture models and was to lazy at the time to go download some. I’ll prolly find some prefabs or something later because clipping the models is annoying!

Clutch, any chance you can make a README file for the map so i can get the map put up at RTCWFILES.COM
the README file should include:
map name:
author:
email:
website:
release date:
map description:
objectives:
etc…

yea I was gonna include all that stuff when I was finished with it. Hey I added your MSN to my list North. Mine is rad_thunder@hotmail.com yea yea go ahead and laugh but ive had that name since i was like 12 :stuck_out_tongue:

By the way north, what did you think of it so far?

Also does anyone know where i can find some good furniture prefabs? I lack in creativity :smiley:

hey is there a way to make a constructible be destroyed by regular bullets? because i wanna be able to shoot out that mirror and reconstruct it.

Yeah, there, is this is how you do it!

Select all your brushes/your brush that you want to be destroyed together, Alt+Left mouse+Drag is what i use to select them

Bring up the entitys list, (right click)
Select func>func_explosive

With the brush(es) still selected press N
The entitys window will pop up,

Give it whatever flags you want

E.g.
Health - 100
Type - glass

The only flag you really need is Health 100, but the type glass, will make the rubble look like glass
So it looks more realistic!

hmm i guess i can try that iust figured a constructible had to be func_constructible, or atleast have a dummy constructible.

Ok so I have fixed the major lighting problems.

Is there any way to make it so you can shoot out the light bulbs and the light cuts off? because I know you cant add a targetname to a regular light because it will mess up almost every shader within its light radius. Any ideas?

No, im sure its possible,

There was that 1 map that had a lightswitch that turned a light on and off

When it say “nearly impossible” I mean that it’s possible but hard to do. :wink:

The main problem is that the playermodels stay lit.
