I have a beef with the deployment timer, I personnaly think it shouldn’t be there if the game has already started. I have 3 main reasons as to why I don’t like the fact that you have to wait 15 seconds before being able to join your team when connect to a game in progress :
- Your team is already fighting and yet you have to wait 15 seconds to join them meaning your team will be down a player for another 15 seconds for no reason, the enemy team will already be in position by the time you arrive, and your entire team will probably be wiped out before you get there because they were outnumbered.
- Because I’m 2 seconds late on joining a game, I don’t get the mercenary selection screen meaning I’m stuck with my first merc selection, unless I decide to waste precious time to rearrange my loadout before clicking the deploy button, by which point 1 will be in effect even more.
- It’s incredibly frustrating to join a game and wait for the deployment timer to tick down all to hear how your team won or lost right before the timer hits 0.
Now this is important, because in a mere 10-15 seconds, if you’re on defense you could have rushed to the objective and easily helped defend with your team against a possible push, but it’s also inconvenient for quests. While it may seem too easy a way to get the ‘complete x amount of games’ type quests done, it’s also really really frustrating when you know if you had a few extra seconds you would have made it into the game and got a record of joining. Meaning you didn’t waste 3 minutes trying to join a game only to get back to the menu screen and have everyone leaving the entire lobby, leaving you to try find another server that isn’t also ending before you get into the game.
Now this may seem like a rant or a complaint, but it’s just feedback on the deployment timer, I love the game and I don’t mind having to hop 2-3 servers before joining a game that isn’t on it’s ending screen, but having to wait 15 seconds everytime, leaving you and your team with a clear disadvantage for no reason is the reason I made this thread.
I can understand the idea behind a deployment timer for everybody when the game starts; but why on earth is there one for people who join the game after it’s already be started. It only makes the loosing team loose even more as all the new players take at least 15 seconds to replace the sore loosers who quit after dying once, leaving their team outnumbered the entire time they’re wasting watching that timer count down, often leading into spawn camping as the enemy team gets positionnal advantage.
