Deployables misused

(PapaOneZulu) #1

so i was in a game of chapel stopwatch.
1st they used bushwackers and turret spam at the door on right so u cant walk pass and on left stairs
2nd they use turrets on the high ground and trick jump using the turret to get into the back of spawn
3rd they block the door with kira ammo station and put a turret behind
then they repeatedly block n turret no matter how many u clear u still cant make it in so for 15 minutes we cant do anthing and just die to turrets as we had no nader or fragger to clear it

so is this the best way to play jus built Lots of turret like n tf2 and spawn camp = 100% victory? if you do not have any merc to counter them?

(K1X455) #2

get nader and fragger to clear it

(XavienX) #3

Really shouldn’t be such a problem really. You should have a offensive merc yourself at most times and people who do that tend to stay in similar places in groups because they are all doing the same thing. Just throw a bunch of crap in that area and BOOM. Donzo.

(PapaOneZulu) #4

yep but what if all went in without counter merc as u cant see what the other team has equipped yea but when u have 2 bush shooting u plus 2 turrets u at least have to yolo them twice with nader and they will still get more kills and deplay yet another turret. its just a dirty way of playing its like example last time when crouch jumping can glitch u thru walls, the didnt invent crouch jump for u to do that but u misused it to win by unfair advantage haha.

jus saying sorry for the long post XD

I… I can’t read it. I am not sure what point you’re trying to get across?

Is it strategically placed turrets? Honestly, the things have 140 health at the most (141?). Get a nader or fletcher (fragger if you’re feeling frisky) and blow the shit up. It is on long enough of a spawn that you have time to push out.

(Samniss_Arandeen) #6

Funny you say Nader, I recently had a team stacked entirely Nader (myself excluded). None of them could hit the Bushie-guns lining the spawn exit and none of them gave me cover fire while I cooked a Frag-potato. Mind you, Bridge on attack.

The problem here is a fuckload of unskilled teams.

(D'@athi) #7

Yes, best way is Bushwacker only. And not do the trickjumps with turrets, but let the turrets trickjump on turrets.

(JesseKomm) #8

Problem with this is it shouldn’t be fixed, this is a minority situation and as annoying as it may seem it’s perfectly reasonable tactics to block access to an area… if it was not, we wouldn’t see Turtle on the horizon whose ability is literally a wall with which to deny a pathway.

The only way to prevent this would be allowed to pass through enemy deployables, which in itself is a huge problem and could cause major issues down the line.

(PapaOneZulu) #9

maybe they could do something like at least you cant stand on top of deployables

(JesseKomm) #10

Using your deployable in new and tactically sound ways is beneficial to your team, being able to use them to gain access to new areas is a great up-side to them… it’s actually something I would do often in TF2 as the Engineer, it’s great for a surprise attack. I never do it in Dirty Bomb though since I never play the classes with deployables but I can see it being widely used and popular for that reason.

(modernBlast) #11

What you are describing is an edge case scenario. Where they are skilled, use a certain strat, and your team is neither skilled nor has the counters in the team. So what is the point of the post when you think about it? They can hardly balance the game around every edge case scenario.

(Jurmabones) #12

That actually sounds like deployables being used appropriately.

(Ghosthree3) #13

Requesting title change: Deployables used

(PapaOneZulu) #14

haha if that is the right way of playing then i guess jus all bushwacker block all exit and 100% win who ever blocks well such that nades cant reach or just reclaim and place it back at full health.

Guys who post that it is ok for turrets to be placed so much that no one can turn it around.

FYI u cant change loadout in mid game so if your team has no nades yr screwed

you guys most likely haven seen how sick turrets can be i suggest u all go to tf2 and see what spawn camping with turrets is like spy or watever they will overwhelm u with turrets

(SnakekillerX) #15

While you can’t change mercs mid game, you CAN see your team’s merc loadout before the game starts. If you pay attention and notice… “damn, no one is using a medic”… you can speak up and tell your team to have someone play medic, or play one yourself.

There is nothing to be done regarding the situation mentioned here really. This would be like having no objective specialists and complain that the enemy can plant the bomb really fast, but it takes ages for your team to disarm it.

I’m afraid all you’ve done was inform people of new possible ways to use deployables.
I for one can’t wait to test out a turret behind an ammo station… lol

go try it haha more people use it they will balanced it like tf2 i think if ultimately all people does this then if it is not fixed or people feel its ok then let it be i just come in and spray for fun sometimes tf2 and dota 2 gets abit boring and i will come into dirty bomb haha

(PlayingUndead) #17

I tried to tell you all that this was Bushwhacker’s game and there are no other mercs.
