Delving into the Story

Does SD plan on goin into the story alot more then what we’ve seen, I like cutscenes but they really don’t provide alot, and I do like the audio logs and mission briefing but I need something more that just sounds. Will we see any more video logs or longer cutscenes

i think they already developed the story sadly cause there isnt mcuh of one

There were longer cutscenes in the container city demo way back when. I expect the idea got cut because they were annoying to replay repeatedly and because they break up mp flow. The audio logs are annoying in the in-game menu because you have to keep clicking on a new one after the previous one finishes rather than just playing thru a char or, better yet, playing thru a char while also playing in a match.

i think they could have cut the cut scences all together and left them in campain, said judgement, most people want a good campain and excellent multi[layer and i think the campaign/story was an utter failure

then again at this point i couldnt care now cause all i do is play multiplayer.

audilogs help develope the story little to none they just give a perspective from each side and i dont find that compelling at all

I liked it. The cutscenes added context for the missions which was something that was missing from ETQW. I don’t really know why people were expecting a SP story for a MP game.

I agree it would have made more sense to have extended cut scenes in the SP/COOP campaign.

The problem comes from their design idea to mix multiplayer and solo.

They wanted the campaign to be like a multiplayer, so humans can jump in and help you anytime needed.

But then again, it’s not quite the same type of game as a “Borderland”. But Borderland succeded better at mixing multi and co-op concepts borrowed from the Hack’n’Slash games.

It’s difficult because people are very used to have a clear separation between solo and multi, in FPS.

they could have separated the two by having a good story for SP and the story theu have now for MP.

It’s a shame SD didn’t develop things more, the whole Ark thing seemed quite interesting.

This game has a story?

The “story” was propably written in less then 5 minutes.

The “story” is just a reason so it’s not complete stupid that we shoot each other on a “floating artificial city”.

This game could be a story BEAST in SP but oh well…
