Defibrillator Hitboxes

(Kirstµ) #1

Does anyone feel like the defibrillator hitboxes are near impossible to predict when trying to hit enemies? As a medic main, defibbing enemies makes more sense, because it tends to have a higher range and damage for it’s speed. The hitboxes make this almost impossible, though. Even when you’re close enough to shave the Fragger’s beard with care, the defibs still seem to miss often.

Yeah, it seems there’s a min distance or something.

I think it’s more a problem with rag dolls than the defibs themselves.

EDIT: I’m an idiot, should stop scanning posts.

Well you shouldn’t go for defib kills let’s start with that, and when it comes to reviving sometimes it works sometime it isn’t.
I personally really hate that teammates and turrets can absorb a defib cause it is or a teammate blocking the downed player or a Bushwhacker hiding behind his turret.

Yeah, it’s odd. You can defib from a fairly long ways away on a downed body. But if you try to actually hit an enemy with your charge they have to be right in your face.

I noticed when I tried myself before as well as looking at DB videos on YouTube in private matches where only defibs were allowed just for fun and a lot of the charges missed even though I’m pretty sure it hit.

Had a match recently where we all played Aura with Defibs only. Noticed pretty quick that it has a decent range, but it also has a decent area just in front of you where it doesn’t hit, so you have to make sure you aren’t too close to whoever you’re trying to hit.
