debug question

(MindConfusion) #1

I’m getting the following error when I compile, however the complie finishes and map runs fine. Am curious if it should be fixed or can it be ignored.

Entity 0, Brush 363: duplicate plane

I do know what it means. As I said just wanna know if its cool to ignore.

considering the little amount of work it needs i would change it, just open your map in notepad and search for the brush, then look for the duplicate planes and delete one of them… or search the brush in radiant and rebuild it…

i don’t know if it can lead to severe errors in future but as far as i understand it it could, apart from that you could get lighting errors and stuff…

It all seems fine, no lighting problems nothing works like it should be.

But it most likely go on the debug list, the first one to the list lol

Just run bob’s brush cleanup tool. It’s the second icon on the toolbar (with the green and blue arrows). This will cleanup any duplicate plane errors.

should brush clean-up fail to remove it (it does happen) then simply use the misc->find brush tool in Radiant, enter the brush number in the warning and see what’s wrong with it. (usually it’s easiest to delete it and remake it).

I had a bunch of errors like that which bobtoolz couldn’t get rid of. Somehow I had wound up with three brushes that were basically a line they were so thin.
