Deathmatch/arena for honing firefight skills?

(thrill11) #1

I’d be cool if you COULD challenge friends to firefights just for honing your skills, but with little exp gain as killing isn’t the main aspect of the game. Maybe like 1-8 people training together max, or 4v4 team deathmatch. The difference in combat skills could mean the difference between a win or lose when defending, or attacking. :stroggbanana:

I wouldn’t want this until the community is big enough to support it. Too many people might be tempted to do this over and over and ignore the OBJ modes, and there’s already too few people playing… on ps3 at least.

This…

Did the op even think of this?

NO

Very bad idea.

No TDM is one of the things that makes Brink great.

I wouldn’t expect this to happen for consoles anyway, but it could be added as a user mod if the PC SDK was released. Ifurita worked on something similar for W:ET which looked pretty darned sweet.

I’d like to play DM with pistols and no crosshairs. Did this with Adhesive a while ago and it was a blast.

But I’ll be pissed if SD wastes time on this. : P

start server, disable bots and have fun shooting each other?

OP, couldn’t finish your post, mate…I tried, but when I read ‘deathmatch’ I began puking blood.

+1 for an “aim map”.

I’d be nice to have a super small map. Basically just one room, a box. Throw some random crates or boxes or something here and there. 1v1 in warmup mode would do the trick.

Maybe just for co-op with a friend, or like if you get mad with some random person on the mike and say, “know what? come to arena so i can kick your ***!” :stroggbanana:
Too many people might be tempted to do this over and over.
Then limit the number of people. Like, 1v1, 4 person free-for-all, and 2v2. It’s just killing anyway. if people are going to want to level up then they’ll have to do objective, you know? Its just for warm-up, small challenges, last minute games, and ect. No one would do JUST that. :stroggbanana:
