Dear splash damage

(Dysfnal) #1

Please make this game kick my ass. I want a hard game. I want abilities that are difficult to use properly but amazing if you do use them right. Fletcher is the ideal for me. I personally agree with a slight AOE nerf, as it will make it harder for a noob to play, but it should be complemented by a small buff that rewards higher skilled players, such as a stick damage bonus.
I would also love to see consistency, seriously, give Thunder the movement speed of a 160 health merc, give phantom the health of a 110 health merc, as well as Vassili, and all the others to which this applies.
Improve the tutorial. It’s not very effective at telling noobs how to give out ammo, and they’re not informed well enough on how repairing works.
I would love to see a greater reward for well performing players, and more incentive to play ranked.
Please place an emphasis on team balance; make the noobs aware that a team of six snipers isn’t a great idea.
Perhaps implement a “casual” gamemode where the noobs can play to improve at the game before they begin to bother veterans.
If a merc isn’t viable in competitive, increase their skill floor and ceiling, cough proxy, aura, thunder, phantom cough.
Keep at it with the big maps, though the spawns should be closer to the objectives, the emphasis on trick jumping and flanking on dome makes it a map that you like more and more when you play it.
Thank you for having the patience to read this post for those of you who did.

I wish everyone map had a jump like the one to the mg on chappel, attacking. I’m still quite a noob, so it takes me a couple of times, but if u get to the mg, it adds so much just for being able to trick jump, and having experience in the game. But that position isnt too op, so it seems good. Would love one of those on every map.

the attacking mg in chapel? are you talking about getting to the mg or jumping on the boxes next to the mg? sounds like to me you are jumping past the ramp before its fixed…

(ClemClem7) #4

I think he’s talking about the mg near the spawn at the final destination of the EV

(blufflord) #5

yeah just before the ev arrives at its destination, u can go behind the defenders on a mg, and mow them all down XD. You jum onto that ledge on the left hand side to get to it, and u can see the defenders spawn up.

@defentialDriver I know what you are talking about and you can use mg’s to a great advantage in every map. the mg’s are also useful at the bridge final point for defenders (if one gets there). I second your idea about more such mg’s

(Herr_Hanz) #7

everybody should go on every MG at all times. as a sniper i thank you for doing that.

(blufflord) #8

That wasnt really the point i was trying to make…
I dont just want lots of mg’s so people go on it more often, I would like ones that require a bit of skill (e.g the long jump) to get there, which rewards you by putting you in a good flanking place

I want a harder to learn game aswell. The problem is the devs just seem to LOVE the noobs. It’s probably just a business thing. I don’t think they really care about the game at this point. They’ve lost the tournament players. If you make the 1% of players happy by making this game require more skill then alot of the noobs will cry about how when they face the 1%, as rare as this might happen, it’s too overpowered for them and you know SD will try to appease those poor little people because they are the majority of their playerbase. From a business perspective, you wanna keep the majority of the people in your pocket instead of the minority. Since, obviously, if you have a larger number of players playing your game, you will have more people spend money within that group.

It’s simple. Please the majority and get more profit. That’s all they care about at this point since this game, in the direction it’s going right now, is bound to fail and die.

Fortunately, for me, Overwatch will be out soon. I’m a competitive guy and I know Overwatch is a little more casual. Thing is, it’s fun and it was advertised as being casual. So you know what to expect going in unlike others who claim to be something then completely change direction.

I don’t think they love anyone but themselves.
