So me and a friend tried to make this work, but we couldn’t, so I’m asking: Is it possible to pick up Bushwhacker’s turret while it’s sparking and broken, but before it explodes?

No. As far as I know, you can only pick it up when it’s not destroyed. I’ve tried this before too, and it’s never worked for me.
They should make it possible but you only get half the cooldown if you manage to take it like that , it would be a nice mechanic to add more depth to the gameplay of Bushy

When picking up a deployable it returns some of the cooldown relative to the remaining health of the object. If the object has 0 health, not only can you not pick it up but if you could you would get no cooldown reduction.

ah. I didnt knex that not much of a Bushy fan. I thought whenever you picked it up yo would get a certain fix amount of the cooldown but what you said invalidate idea

I’ve never tested it myself but when you pick up a turret that hasn’t been destroyed you gain some time towards your CD. However, if it’s damaged, it retains the same HP as when you picked it up until the full timer cycle for the next turret has finished. In the past you could pick up a deployed turret or station and set it back down with full HP. They changed that a long time ago so now it SHOULD work the way I described. However, as I’ve never tested it myself, take that with a grain of salt 
It’s really weird right now. Once the turret starts sparking and stops firing, after about 1 second, the turret can be reclaimed by using f for a brief window.
ahem ofcourse you can reclaim a turret that has just been destroyed, but is still standing there smoking.
Thats a feature that’s in the game since bushwhackers release. What happens is that the cooldown gets shorten to 4 seconds, so you can place a new one after that.
However the hitbox is extremly wonky best practice is to stand as clsoe as possible looking directly at the top of the turret and smashing f repeatable if you are lucky you reclaimed it. If you’re unlucky you wont and die because people are still firing in that general direction.

same with healing station and ammo station…if it took damage…your cooldown is increased.
Oh man, I thought it still works that way. It would be nice if anyone confirmed that in-game.
OK but try to not invade Iraq this time.
Yeah I use it as a common tactic if my turret gets killed in a cross fire. Smashing f returns it with maybe 2 secs of cool down.
