They’re not bad weapons. You just can’t spam the shit out of them like you may be used to doing with the lighter pistols. Like the M9. They’re not like that. It’s like expecting to fire a deagle that fast in real life. Your arms won’t be in the same place. It may even break your arm by firing that fast. Just learn to fire those a lot slower. You’ll hit more with them
DE, Caulden, Reveolvers. Bad weapons?
The DE’s spread seems to be the most random in the game of any weapon even on first shot.
S&W Revolver is probably one of my favourite sidearms honestly, feels so satisfying to get the perfect shot on someone.
That’s why they’re bad, you’re not usually in a position where you can take a coffee break in between shots when you’re forced to pull out your secondary. Though at least with the DE and the Caulden you can still ADS and fire quickly if you have to (albeit at the cost of speed making yourself vulnerable), with the revolvers if they’re not close enough you’re forced to shoot slowly and therefore deal much less damage over time. And the low magazine capacity is bad too, which is a very important thing to consider when evaluating a weapon.
I find revolvers useful at point-blank range and, in the event you’re out of ammo, to be used as a mini sniper rifle.
Do you expect Six-Shot Revolvers to have higher capacity? No, they’re not bad weapons at all. They’re really strong. It’s just that people use them improperly because they like spamming the shit out of the two lighter pistols. And caulden can’t be classified as a heavy or light pistol. It’s more of a medium pistol I guess. It’s not bad, but not the worst.
The only side arm I really dislike is the DE .50. You can try to snipe with it when your primary’s dry, but the spread makes it impossible to hit anyone after the first shot, even if you increase your firing interval. It can only effectively finish someone off if they’re at really low health, or if you can repeat peek-and-one-tap them over and over.
I fire them at low rate of fire, to reduce spread in between shots.
Wanna spray them? Either shoot at close range, or use pistols (other than deagle) instead.
The Caulden is flat out GREAT. it has great accuracy and great damage, you can go Caulden only and have success, it’s a good secondary
Caulden, best shot audio in the game. It could give enemies health and I would still reload and shoot again.
I have it on my Swiss Aimee loadout, I can get more kills than with the grandeur which is the primary, drilled is helpful too
I have no issues with revolvers. I managed to pull out some very decent frags with the Simeon. Caulden is underrated too.
Except that if you’re using a revolver you are either making use of that high DPS (which you can only do in extremely close quarters) or you are slowing down your rate of fire to keep your accuracy but in the process you are also completely negating the ONLY advantage you had (the DPS) by cutting your rate of fire.
And that’s not even counting the low magazine size, the slower reload, and the impossibility of ADS spam-firing (which is what I would usually use if the hipfire spread is affecting my ability to shoot consistently).
The revolvers are shit.
The Caulden and DE.50, meanwhile, are basically just the same as the revolvers but with less extreme stats - they don’t have such a high DPS to start with, but they also have to slow down their ROF if they want to shoot accurate which drops their DPS below that of the M9/Selbdstadt. So, basically, they’re still shit - just not as shit as the revolvers.
That said, maybe it’s just that I’m comparing these guns to the M9/Selbdstadt which are, obviously, the best sidearms (except for machine pistols of course). Maybe instead of buffing all these shitty sidearms, we should just nerf the M9/Selbstadt (probably by simply reducing their DPS).
thats not the only advantage revolvers have. Frontloaded damage can be significant when the fight has been on for a while and opponent is one revolver headshot away from death.
Never heard the term ‘frontloaded damage’ before, but I assume that it means the low firerate-high damage per bullet stats that allow it to do a huge amount of damage in a split second? Yes, that’s helpful I suppose… Still, it doesn’t make up for all its downsides.
I prefer the heavier pistols over the light versions
I like being able to deal alot of damage really quick rather than havin to spam fire a light pistol
@ProfPlump yes, frontloaded damage/high alpha strike/ alpha damage etc.
i prefer m9 over the other pistols but ive seen good players do godly with accurate revolver headshots. they dont need a buff

Well I have over a thousand hours in the game and I’ve never experienced those kinds of players. The most dangerous sidearms that I come against (when used by the pro players) are the M9 and Selbstadt (as well as being the two sidearms that I’m best with).
