Greeting Dirty Bombers,

Here we get along with another Proving Grounds event!
We expect all of you newbies out there to get your teams together and sign up fast for Proving Grounds #8!
And don’t worry about those big teams. This one’s just for the new ones.

Prizes: TBA

On the 18th and 25th of September we will be hosting a double elimination bo3 tournament.

That means that we’ll be prohibiting certain teams/competitors from participating. The following list is generated from DBN performance from the Open Cups performances:

  • fE
  • SoloQ
  • Run and Pack
  • t>
  • wimpy
  • LPS
  • d92
  • HERO
  • BROP
  • Ins

The players on these teams will be unable to participate, substitute, or partake in the Proving Grounds events.

It’s important that the players of these teams also realize that we’re not forgetting about you! With this separation we’re trying to give the newcomers room to move, play, and compete. But let’s not forget that your dedication to the game, drive to win, and passion are what drive the community, and your understanding of this ruling and this particular list is greatly appreciated.

Rules update:

  • 2.20 Teams signed up for Proving Grounds events are allowed to use one (1) player who has been banned from Proving Grounds events. This means that, for example, a single player from team “fake ELITE” can sign up for Proving Grounds with four other players that are not from a banned team.
  • Extra: Due to various bugs with Fletcher in the latest patch, Fletcher will not be allowed in any tournament until further notice.

Is there any chance of getting an Australian comp in the future that isn’t bound to Asia?

As you know many Australians and New Zealanders ping worse to Asia servers than we do America which is pretty much the reason we had almost no one enter the Aus/Asia competitions you guys previously held.

The interest from our players is there, just the conditions weren’t equal flavour so we all decided to not bother.

Like I get it. Our playerbase is so small that SD removed our ranked servers and blended us, but if the theory behind it was that we’d just say “Oh well, we’ll just deal with high ping and play on Asian servers” then it’s had quite the opposite effect. Quality of games > quantity of games. None of us want to play on 200ms.

Or on the contrary, are we allowed to enter American competitions as well even if we’re playing with 150ms? I’m just running out of ideas here. Our community is small but the players are growing more eager to play some ranked and competitive, and the only way we can do it right now is by playing on insanely high ping.

Currently, as of now, we’re not too sure about our Asia/Aus scene. We’d like to restart it, or even break it off into separate regions, but right now we’re not too sure how much interest we would have in either option.

We were just talking about it today, and you might see an Aus/Asia (probably combined) event in the near future. It’s definitely still on the table as an option!

Goodness gracious what games! And even more goodness coming next Saturday when the cup is still having couple games to play, so many teams its insane.

They got the gracious VOD viewable too here to get tuned in before finals :wink:

No, well played TR! I still might need a shower after some of the strats used but how it turned out in the end, we wouldn’t had won without. Meaning you guys better keep cuppin’ too, was tight games. :sunglasses: Should catch some scrimming sooner than later
