DB gets completely unplayable after 30 minutes, drops from 200 fps to 1 fps

(Kestar) #1

When freshly restarted, (the game, not the PC) I get 150-200 FPS, and then it steadily drops. about 100 on the second game, 50 on the third. After that It collapses, with about 1-2 second long pauses. It gets unplayable before that point, off course.

This is how it looks:

This happens every time in the game, 100%, no problem reproducing it. If, like, someone is interested in fixing this. I can force a full dump from Process Explorer and upload it, should be easy to debug.

This is on I7 4770, 32GB RAM, SSD, Windows 10, latest drivers, 750 Ti, 2 GB.

There is 20+ GB free ram, GPU monitoring shows 1 GB gpu ram free. There is no disk activity. Processor shows 15-25% usage, so about 2 cores, out of 8.

Tried with an older nvidia driver? I can recommend 347-ish versions. Absolute latest that got released for Win10 is trash. You got 8 threads not cores (4 cores 8 threads is correct, if you care about that)

So, there is a bug with the latest drivers, blame the drivers?

This issue is 100% reproducible, 3 games, and you have it. In fact, it is unavoidable. I can’t believe nobody else has this problem.

There is plenty of both GPU RAM and system ram available. This is not an overheating issue, it gets back to full 200 FPS right after the restart.

Could be that the game is running out of its 2 GB 32 bit memory space?

OFC it’s known issue - you will find a lot of posts about it in nexon forums (and this posts never get any reply from GM’s - like 99.99% of technical issues posts). I am experiencing something close to you, after 1-2maps I am having fps drops from 140 to 40-60 and it goes lower by another few minutes, one time I was trying so hard that it went to 3-4 fps and after alt+tabing game I was unable to go back (there was also sound tearing in the game - but not in system or webbrowser playing music that time).

After writing 2 posts with wall of text describing issue my system and pc configuration and not recieving single response from nexon I wrote ticket where I was only asked by GM for dxdiag and ticket was closed without any bit of information provided to me… So beeing curious came to SD forum and found yours.

I’ve been having lots of issues running out process memory and video memory, doubt it’s driver related as I haven’t updated in a while, also a more plausible reason seems to me that the game is just riding right on the edge of what’s acceptable.

I too have been having this issue.

My system is considerably low spec (9800GT [1gb], AMD Phenom II 1090T) but for what it is I am able to run the game completely fine with a tweaked config at around 150-180fps stable. Only until I reinstalled Windows 7 did I actually come across an issue where my PC would start freezing up every 5 seconds with 0.5-2 second freezes, this happened mostly in Dirty Bomb but could also be found in other games as well. I was certain that it was a hardware issue and tried to test all of my components, but all of them ended up showing that they’re still healthy. I downgraded to the last available drivers for my 9800GT of which were the 320 ones from 2013 and now I’m not suffering from any freezes, the game feels a lot smoother now as well.

Happened to me today; not quite as bad as OP but damn close.

I give it all back to Ragnak, game is A LOT laggier, but I don’t blame hit detection just these warps. Its the easiest to notice when your making an objective, as the progress bar will warp quite a few times, even when the gameplay doesn’t seem laggy.

All those ‘getting hit thru walls’ ‘getting hit instantly’ ‘getting hit after a delay’ situations stem from this major warpiness.

Sucks the fun out of the game.

I saw many players complain about it as well, but I do think its player-specific, i.e. some people suffer more than others, and some seem to be unaffected at all.
