Darji2 is out

(Loffy) #1

Hallo!
Here is the new and improved version of my latest map, called Darji2.

You can download it at:
http://www.pcgamemods.com/4

or you can download it here:
http://arduis.enemy-territory.se/dlfile.php?Product=darji2.pk3&DownloadID=124

New features: I’ve added more crates, moved the spawns (away from the flags), improved the command map and added a new route (see third screenshot above).

The map’s description is still the same:
Darji is a capture-the-flag map. It has 2 bases: One Axis and one Allied. The bases are identical, with each having 7 flags and a goal-zone. The goal-zone is a truck.
The objective for you and your team-members is simple: Run into the enemies base, steal one of their flags and bring it all the way back home to your goal-zone.
Place it in your goal-zone by jumping into the Truck whilst holding the flag. Your team will get 1 point for each enemy flag it places into your truck.
It is only possible to steal one enemy flag at a time. You and your team-members cannot steal 2 or more at the same time.
Furthermore your truck will become “invisible whenever the enemy steals one of your flags, which means you cannot score points as long as the enemy has one of your flags.
The team which has captured the most flags, when the time limit is hit, wins the game. The game is a draw if the score is equal (0-0, 1-1 etc.) at full time.
If a team captures all 7 flags, before the time limit is hit, the game will stop and that team becomes the winner.

So many languages, making me dizzy. I can’t wait to play! The first one, however, was too hard for my skill level at this game.

Keep up the amazing work!

Thx LaggingTom!
You’ll find this version even better for the attackers, since the defenders spawn far, far away from the flags they are suppose to protect. I’ve really worked to get high fps on Darji and to get a nice “flow”.

Note for all: This is not a mod - it is just a map. All you need, is to download the map. But you all knew that, ET-professionals!

Reload!

Hi loffy.

****storm allready run your map version b2 long before you released this one. The map had no light compile and looked afull. I don’t know why was that?!?!?

Well I haven’t had time to check this next version out but some notes of first version:

  • Both sides have too easy to defend the flag. but I think moving spawns will help with that.
  • The design and brushwork is restless. Everything seems to be little of the scale. Meaning very big walls and little steps that are hard to stay on.
  • All the areas look the same so that you are hopeless lost most of the time.
  • The map is little too big to my taste.

Lol, you know what - I agree to most of that. But this version is Darji2. The one you’re talking about is Darji_a2. (I admit, the naming is a bit vauge and confusing.) I’ll try to do better in my new project (GoldenEye-remake, Bunker and Facility).
I’ll end with this bit of dialogue:
Loffy’s kid, when Loffy starts with Darji:
-“But, it is too big!”
-“No, the players will love it.”
-“I’m telling you. It IS to big.”
-“Nah, I don’t think so.”

2 weeks after Darji first playable version was released. Loffy, sitting at his desk, spectating players who look like little ants in a big city and who are obviously lost:
-“Hm, maybe it is too big?”

Very nice map! Melikes all the teleporters & the punishment for going through an enemy teleporter!

I managed to find the SS HeirPie’s Sig pic.

I also found a bug:

A floating half-caulked brush. Nothing major, but I thought i’d tell you about it.

Thought I had the new version until now…:), I have the new one rolling on the server now Loffy (FYI)…

Hey Jimbob thats not a bug, Loffy misplaced that chocolate bar while mapping and could not find it, Im sure hes glad you found it…

(Loffy) #11

Woa, there it is!
I didn’t understand the meaning of “Hey, this map IS TOO BIG” until I lost that bar and had to look all over for it. Thanks!
Drakir, I’m releasing a prefab soon. (The D-man and I talked about it earlier - it will be a complete CTF-prefab with map-file and all entities from Darji.)
Heirpie, I visited Shit-Storm yesterday. That Sand of Time map is cool. I like the sun-ray!
