Damage not registering

I get hit markers and hit sound notifications (headshot dinks with bolt actions) with no damage dealt. Not really out of the ordinary with high ping players but seems to be happening more frequently and even between players with low pings. Happens in ranked servers and pub servers, feels like damage is registering at a lower tick rate for some reason but hit and sound notifications are still being displayed correctly. Anyways, not sure if other players are have the same experience? Most apparent to me when getting an enemy to very low HP and landing a headshot or body shot with revolver and not seeing health bar reduce or get a kill. Damage feedback has felt delayed for some time as well and I know Windows CU caused similar issues in other games but thought that had been addressed already?

Have any server changes been made recently? This is still an issue as well, haven’t seen any response from devs.

Hit detection is fucked up for months now, it just got worse because of lower quality servers.

In any case i can confirm that there are problems with hit detection, not like SD will do anything about it tho.

It happens to me all the time.
The issue happens when one of the following happens:

  1. You die within’ less than a second after taking the shot.
  2. The enemy dies within’ less than a second after you shoot. Even if they are not finished
  3. Your bullet hits the enemy but it just misses an object (wall/fence/whatever) but still hits the enemy. Usually happens with annoying fences that should have no hitbox at all for attacks (only block players but bullets and projectiles will go through them).

There might be more but this is when I experience it (Aimee main)
The first thing is the most common one for this issue and it’s probably because ping issues. Please either fix it and make the headshot count or at least remove the hitsound so I don’t even know that I hit the headshot and will be less pissed.

The other 2 really need to be fixed.
If the enemy dies, your headshot should finish them and not be ignored. Kinda annoying to waste a bullet for no reason.
Just because the bullet was close to an object doesn’t mean it hit it, I really don’t understand why it causing it since you clearly hit the enemy and not the object

Happens to me with melee as well. I’ve had it do the hit sound and not even register

Same here. It’s most noticeable for me when I use the Katana. Not sure what they did with that last update, but melee, the katana specifically, isn’t working right. Slashes and stabs aren’t hitting like they should and often, I will stab/slash someone dead on, even get the noise, and then die 2 seconds later and somehow they live? It never registers, but I get the noise so I know I hit them perfectly. Just one of the many problems ruining my ranked experience :’(
