Daily Missions rework

So, here’s my proposal

  1. Instead of daily missions that cycle every 3 hours, we instead have missions that last for 24 hours. And they are Waterboy, Objective Monkey, Hunter Killer. The other missions no longer exist and we no longer have first match or first win of the day.

  2. Instead, these 3 missions are now in tiers, beating 1 tier unlocks the next level, which increases the required xp to complete it as well as the rewards.

  3. There are 3 tiers for each mission, and they double in xp rewarded, 250, 500, 1000. This means it’s possible to earn 5250 credits a day, 36750 a week (not including the credits you earn normally per match). How much xp each tier requires I am still unsure yet, and the output rewards for these missions can absolutely be adjusted if you want. It’s just the idea I want to offer up.

Why is this better than current?

No competitive matches that you are forced to play, no secondary objective missions, no win based missions, no game mode specific missions, and of course, no merc specific missions.

You are simply rewarded for just playing, however you like, whenever you like.

This way people don’t feel like they have to be selfish to grind, they can just play and be rewarded throughout the day.

This is also assuming we get some kind of in game marketplace for loadout cards, where we can sell our cards for credits as well as buy. Eliminating the need for trade downs and a way to accelerate how people get new mercs.

I don’t see much problem with the current oct-daily system(Not really a term but since the missions refresh every 3 hours it makes for a total of 8 resets in the day so the prefix makes sense here), the issue is with the missions themselves.

They are designed to promote variety in gameplay by having players participate in actions they may not do on their own… in a way it’s coaxing you to buy new mercs, to play new game modes, or fulfill a specific role. In theory it helps players play more cooperatively, in practice it forces us into situations we do not like and as such drains our potential in matches.

Missions should not impose any requirement such as a specific merc, a win condition, seeking secondary objectives, or acquiring one of the three experience types earned… this leaves us with such mission options as play X matches in objective/stopwatch, and earn X total XP. While dull and unvaried, this allows individuals to have the most satisfactory gameplay experience as they do not feel pressured or even burdened by their given missions and so they can play freely while still able to secure a steady income of credits for personal use.

[EDIT]: Would also like to add that with the current system, were one to play for 24 hours in a day and get nothing but bronze tier missions they can earn a total of 12,000 credits in a day, over double the amount you calculated with your third proposal and thus 84,000 credits in a week, of course this is exaggerated gameplay as most players do not complete every possible mission in a day, let alone for the rest of the week.

The question people should be asking is who thought it was a smart idea to make competition a mission?

It’s scary to think that whatever thought process lead to that decision is the same brains that will be determining the direction the game takes moving forward.

I can see your good intentions @Watsyurdeal, but I really don’t like the look of this.

The current mission system is fine, the only problem is the “Complete X side objectives” and “Play/Win X comp matches”

A rework isn’t needed just a revision of missions.
