CW Card fix being on indefinite hiatus is bullshit

(DadoPeja) #21

If they loose @Sniff they will probably loose 50% income from this crapy RNG cases  If u guys still wanna earn atleast some money from this game @MissMurder U should change some stuff ASAP!

  • Eather change rng and make % way better for ppl that pay with real money!
  • Or make differetn system… Get loadouts from cases only for merchs u unlocked alredy…
  • The problem is u can get good loadout from a case , but u dont even have merch for it which is just crap…

And there are still many other stuff that ppl probably pointed out many many times alredy…

I don’t really remember hearing anything more about CW cards other than you have a 0.3% chance to get one, it’s all about RNG, I’d only like to see a fix for duplicates, since it feels kind of dumb in the first place.

Alienware and Logitech had only 2 possible loadouts for each 2 mercs, yet I didn’t really notice anyone complaining about those. You’re not promised anything by SD, they only offer RNG, thats it.

But other than that you knew what you paid for, I’d also pay for this game for some cosmetics, but it’s too RNG based for my liking and on top of that I have no control over which merc I might get and most mercs have extremely unbalanced loadouts in the first place, making only 1 out of 3 loadouts considering the same primary viable.

I complained about the alienware but it just get buried among all the other pointless posts :stuck_out_tongue: I find it disgusting that if you want a card you didnt get you have to make a new account just because they have a bad system they cling to. there is a reason why no successful game does this kind of shit…

There’s a large difference there. The event was totally free, meaning not a single dime was spent by anyone in order to open those cases.

Also there is no moral obligation to use those loadout cards. It is knid of like a token of playtime and dedication. I use the card because I happened to get a really good one, but if you got a bad one, I’d just look at it like a pretty object, a trophy if you well.

And also I hate RNG too. The game really needs to strip it out as soon as possible.

When it comes to cosmetic RNG, I generally feel like if you put money into the machine and get sh*t on, thats your fault. The nature of gambling. After all, its just cosmetic.

However, these cards are supposed to commemorate us playing during the event. Its supposed to be SD “Thanks for beta testing our game!”

Given that, it shouldn’t be difficult to get a card thats good. Putting off the system is a bad idea.

You guys are crying about a FREE2PLAY and cards that are the exact same thing as bronze card exept that they are yellow and more rare…these are just collectible…i want a good yellow card too but if i dont im not gonna cry on a forum.

If you bought some elite cases and didn’t get a good card…thats your problem, its called gambling, you knew it when you bought these cases.

(Mister__Wiggles) #27

Why not give everyone a free CW case that will guarantee a CW skin? People that already bought them wont be pissed with that and for the people that feel the drop rate is too low will finally have one. As for the no re roll, im on the fence with it. I wouldn’t mind seeing it as I have a CW that I will never use but if it doesnt come then its no the end of the world tbh.

Actually, they are “crying” about being the people who fund the game and get screwed for it, considering that every other card type in-game that is connected to real money can be used either to trade up or trade in to something more desirable. As far as talking about in on the forums, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP DIRTY BOMB ALIVE. They are the only people on this forum that have a legitimate right to give out their opinions and suggestions. Telling someone like Sniff to “stop crying” on the forums is ridiculous.

Then clearly you aren’t as dedicated or passionate as many of us on the forums. Yellows cards are cool and all, but it’s more the message that we’re trying to send to the developers, RNG is not cool, and we want to be acknowledged as part of the people that participated in the event.
Especially those that paid money. Yes you knew you were gambling, but that is the only way to support SD right now. SD is screwing us over incredibly hard, and the only thing to do is “cry” and tell them to remove RNG.

I can guarantee you that SD would make way more money without RNG tied to cosmetics.

No no no no. The people who keep dirty bomb alive is the random Joe we all are who spend on average between 10 and 20. Again, people spending shitloads in the game are marginal right now. If you consider that all 250K regular players spent 10 each (including people who still not put a single dime in it, that still sounds realistic to me), sniff’s contribution is at best 0.1%. Yes, significant and meaningless at the same time.

From the dev/editor’s point of view, I think the biggest priorities should be :

  1. Make more randoms Joes stay, come or come back into the game. As a reasonable goal for this game, 400k or even 500k regular players sounds possible. Especially since the Stoker update where db proved to be attractive with good proper content updates. Someone who play regurlarly is someone more keen to put his money in. So they have to try retaining us as much as possible by providing stuff which improves the life expectancy of the game. Imo, economy is sadly very out of this right now.
  2. Make random Joes spend more. That’s a tricky bit, but currently, even if steam market and trade-ins for CW cards are made available, this won’t raise the average expenditure. The current system is worth putting at best 30 bucks on the table right now. People don’t like how random the current loadout system is. So improving it is hopeless, unless they only want to retain gamblers. Those will stick to the game anyway, seeing how much bananas they received in their face already. The average random Joe expenditure will always be between 10 and 20 with the current system.

Nevertheless, gamblers and stackers still need some love I guess. @CartmanPlayDirty’s post is probably the general feeling about such threads of the mute people. And they represent the vast majority of the sales volume already.

(CCP115) #31

That’s not going to happen. The game has been free for what, half a year now? They’ve done case giveaways and merc giveaways, and while it does spike players, there’s no retention, and that’s something we’re going to have to live with for now.
Realistically, the playerbase won’t increase much in the following weeks. Dirty Bomb has been on the Steam store front and the Update news multiple times, and I will admit my friends do launch the game occasionally, but that’s just to get that free elite case. Most PC gamers will probably have found their shooter to stick with, and for many it’s CS:GO.
The playerbase spiking in the future sounds unlikely. It could happen, but I don’t see anything that the devs could do to attract real players.

That’s not tricky. Overhaul the current system. It’s bad. Really. Cosmetics are the way to go, there’s very little to argue about there.

I’ve opened ~400 CW cases.

Chance for a CW card? 0.3%. How many I got? 1. That’s about the expected rate - 0.25%.
Chance for a Gold card? 0.4%. How many I got? 5! That’s 1.25% - much higher than expected.

It looks like even when RNG is favoring me it still finds a way to irritate me. Why the spike in golds, and not in CW? :disappointed:
