All though that post was riddled with broken grammar, I have this problem as well. My map worked yesterday, I added one thing, and now it doesn’t work.

ok guys, i had the same problem, the only thing to do is to do a FRESH REINSTALL,
Altough, it helped for me
i uninstalled ET (by software) then the files i still had and didn’t wanted to lose, i moved them to my documents,
I deleted the folder : ET
I reinstalled ET
I reinstalled Radiant

This worked for me, so i hope for you guys too :drink:

i don’t want to reinstall et :frowning: :disgust: all my settings,

I had this problem and successfully fixed it without having to reinstall.
It is actually happening due to one (or more) custom maps that you have downloaded. I guess ET preloads a little from each .pk3 upon start up and that somehow messes up the game.

What I would advise you to do is move the latest .pk3 downloads you have done out of the ETMain folder. If you manage to find out which .pk3 is causing the problems, then I bet the author of that .pk3 would be eternally greatful if you notified him/her of the problem! :cool:

one by one, moving them, moving them back, …
I have lot’s of .pk3 's that are just 1 Kb, i think this is kinda weird,
i have files like this one :

beach.9b0f48fa.pk3.tmp

:???:

i don’t know what to do, i have maps installed, Rhine, Rhine 2, Trainyard, Beach, D-Day, Towerandslider, Pool, Flack Cannon and then some other weird looking maps, i don’t know if i can delete them or not :???: :disgust:

i found the “error file” ^^

i remembered something of :

SmokeysCampaign.pk3

the last time i had this problem, now i moved the file to my trashbin and TADAAAA, problem solved

I hope this works :slight_smile: ive deleted all the beta maps that I dont need, and also deleted smokeysgrotto.pk3.

I deleted the majority of the 1 kb .pk3 files also and it worked. For those who don’t know what they are, the files are map cycle files downloaded from the different servers you play on. Thanks for the help.

and files with tmp should be deleted

There is a good chance it isn’t this specific file that is a problem. ET has trouble if there are too many .pk3s in etmain. This is a well known bug. It was a well known bug in RTCW too :banghead:

Yet another good reason to do you mapping with a clean install of et, and have another copy for playing.
