Why is the title of this post
Cvar_update: handle out of range
:???:
This has nothing to do with Cvar =)
Maybe you DO have a leak and putted the “give leak error”-option off in the Preferences
Ok i go to run the map it starts loading and says
Cvar_update: Handle Out Of Range
Someone help me
The other post about this didnt help.
Backup all of your of your map files, textures, shaders, etc… Then uninstall both Enemy Territory and SDRadiant. Do a fresh install into the default directory for Enemy Territory, and install SDRadiant into that. Then install another copy of Enemy Territory into a unique directory that you will only use for playing online. I think the culprit is rouge configs and custom pk3 files that you download in the course of playing ET.
Also try using the search feature on the forums, quite a few people have already asked this question.
You NEED to learn to use the search function of this forum. A wealth of information and answers to your questions are just a few mouse/keyboard clicks away…

There are two ways you can do this, open a command prompt and go to the directory that holds these files: Example
“C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain”
“del <filename>”
No Quotes
Depending on the Operating System you may have to type the full path. Example:
“del C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain<filename>”
If that doesn’t work, restart your computer in safe mode, then get to your files through Windows Explorer and delete them[/quote]
I had this CVAR_UPDATE problem and all the solutions here didn’t fix it. Well, because I didn’t really understand the problem correctly.
I deleted all the pk3 files from my /usr/local/games/enemy-territory/etmain folder, but that’s not where the problem file was. there was also a hidden directory in my $HOME folder, called .etmain (notice the dot in front, that means its hidden) … anyway I renamed that folder to .etmainGAME and then I could test my map. when I want to play again, i rename it back to .etmain and i’m good to go.
hope this helps other penguins out there.
