CVAR Request: printplayerGUIDs

Coming from the Competition side of the world, we need some method to get the IDs of all the players on the server, in order to verify that the roster is correct back to whichever gaming league you are playing in.

Because this is a Steam Game, the generally used ID is the “SteamID”.

Currently, there is a CVAR called “printuserGUID”. This will give the Steam Community ID of YOU. The only way to get an ID for other players is to go through your Steam Overlay, List Players, Current Game, and check each individual player. With this, however, you are left with either the players Steam Community ID or their Custom URL. You would, then, need to take this information and go to a site such as VACBanned.com to convert the SCID/URL into the actual SteamID. Then, compare THAT value to what that player has listed on the League Site.

The process of actually checking the IDs is what it is. There is not much that can be done to streamline that. However, if it were possible to implement a CVAR that would list the STEAMID (not Community ID) of All of the players on the server, it would take out the hassle of having to convert each individual player SCID or URL into a SteamID before being able to verify the identify.

Just for reference sake (using my own as an example), since I know this has confused people in previous games:

URL = http://steamcommunity.com/id/knightly
SCID = 76561198006776256
Steam ID = 0:0:23255264

If you looked me up through “current game” or “recent games”, my profile would direct you to “http://steamcommunity.com/id/knightly”. If you copy that URL to VACBanned.com, that is how you trace back to my SteamID.

And, again, you would need to go through this process for each player individually.
