Will the cut scenes be in game using our avatars or will they be pre rendered? It would be really cool to see out custom Avatars in the cut scenes as the story unfolds.
As far as the story, how deep a story should we expect?

Your avatars. Can’t answer the second question although Brink’s supposed to be competent singleplayer experience with which a story should go along with.
Sweet! So we will at least see our custom characters in the cut scenes. I hope the story is deeper than just Ok guys good work next mission ie MAG style. But we’ll have to wait and see.
We have already seen in one of the videos them discovering something that was glowing green in a cargo container, so I hope this is part of a decent mission driven story
Yeah that got me a little excited to see , maybe we can expect a little adventure and discovery as well.
Would you like some side-scrolling platform action with that?
It’s just an FPS with some story added to it, do not expect anything else. they won’t change the game’s genre even if you ask for it.
No need to get snarky I’m just asking questions and wondering how far they plan to go with the whole story telling aspect of the game. I’d personally like to see a story unfold along with an awesome FPS experience.
"Would you like some side-scrolling platform action with that? " Now that you mention it yeah that would be pretty cool lol if it was done Mirrors edge style like a side mission I bet it would fit in rather nicely
Don’t ask me for a quote as I can’t be bothered but I’m sure they’ve mentioned that you won’t be seeing your own characters in the cut-scenes.
This
and from all the shots so far they appear to be realtime (which makes sense considering you see you own character)
They are also trying to get as much story into the actual enviroments as possible, so if you start looking it will (or should) tell you a lot of backstory, what happened… whats the general feel from the static stuff.

Ah yes, in Singleplayer it’s the same guys and in the Multiplayer it are the player characters. Would be neat to see the roles of those characters tied to previous performance as some kind of reward.
If by that you mean putting the best players on the team in the cut scenes that is also the case.
Hmm So lets say I start a single player game and beat the first 2 missions. Then I decide I’m ready to go online, would I continue with mission 3 or does it start over for online multi player? (I’m thinking it would just continue) Also would the characters in the cut scenes change depending on who I’m playing with? I’d like to think it would be pretty easy to just run a script with what ever people I’m playing with to do in game cut scenes.
That said I think any cut scenes should be short and sweet, nobody want to sit through a 5 min cut scene especially ADHD FPS fans lol . I think I remember that they said that the story would be told while the game was loading but that would mean that the cut scenes where pre-rendered unless I’m wrong.
I’d love for the story to be told in small in game cut scenes before and after each level using our custom characters. Just seeing my character and hearing his voice would be really cool. Does anybody recall seeing a voice selection when building the custom characters?
You can continue the campaign online. You can also skip the cutscenes which lands you in the warmup mode. And don’t worry, this won’t be Metal Gear Solider I think.
And yes you’re supposed to be able to select your accent.
Warm up mode? Please explain.
So will we see our custom charters playing out parts in the cut scenes?
Stoked about voice or accent selection =D
I think he means limbo menu, weapon and ability selection
and yes, you will see your custom character and others in cut-scenes
Warm up mode? Please explain,
Warmup has basically the same role as a lobby room. Just a period of time before mission start waiting for everyone to be ready to play.
I meant exactly what I said. A warm up mode, identical to the warm up modes in W:ET and ETQW.
