Customize iron sight/scope?

(ThunderZsolt) #1

I was reading the “lack of reward for proggression” thread made by @TepidJesus , and I wonder if we would be able to choose optics ever?

Not necessarily as part of “player proggression” - that was discussed in that thread - but some other way. Here is the thread: forums.dirtybomb.com/discussion/36213/lack-of-reward-for-progression/p1

My ideas:
For example you could have 2 loadout cards with the same weapons and augments, but a different scope.
Or assaults would have better scope for the same weapons to give them an advantage over other classes? (I personally don’t like this, but it would make sense)
Or assaults (maybe fire supports too) could use sniper rifles without scope (only iron sight)

Can’t wait for the one shot meta to spread to assaults and fire supports.

Snipers on assaults? No no no no no no. Nader is enough cancer without a sniper rifle.
And if you give Thunder a PDP…

I don’t mind different sights added if it means I have more things to use my useless 800,000 credits on. Especially if I can get a MoA scope on my F82 Aimee.
Just nothing too OP like in Rainbow Six Siege please (because sights in there are a HUGE advantage)

But in R6: International Police Brutality, those sights needs to be purchased separately as an upgrade, which makes it so that purchasing them HAS to give players a minor advantage to reward them. Giving players a fee for sights in DB is like rewarding a diabetic’s sucess in their diet with a pack of donuts. Its redundant and goes against the overall flow of the game.

(Gonna be honest that analogy is awful, I couldn’t think of a better one, sorry)

@AlbinMatt
nonono, those organization are Paramilitary, not linked to policework

those are the guys who you send if police cant handle things

as for SWAT, they are unique since they are taken from police force but also use military hardware.

I’m not sure about this because loadouts in Dirty Bomb are designed a certain way in combination with augments and weapons. Certain weapons have sights based on how they are supposed to be used but since this game is mostly hitfire based for its fast paced nature perhaps optic sights wouldn’t hurt as much if it just differed slightly.

For example the sniper rifle, MOA. You can only get scopes that are more zoomed in or out than the current one, but not an iron sight or red dot sight which completely falls out of the intention of the weapon right now.

Or say the Blishlok. You can only have an enhanced red dot or iron sight but not an AUG sight since it’s supposed to be a medium range weapon.

Ya’ll feel me?

@GatoCommodore .Yeah, I nearly flunked my Security and Civilian Safety. Thanks for the insight.

@XavienX I feel ya.

Giving assaults access to snipers may not be as bad as giving Phantom a shotgun but it’s right up there.

Phantom with a shotgun… do it SD.
But not really.
