Customization and the Past 1/2 Year

(KnollDark) #1

So they pretty much had the game done back in August and they’ve spent the 1/2 year tweaking the game purposely but I feel that the artists have little knowledge of programming so my question is since theres only 15 outfits listed on the site are there going to be alot more outfits in the finished product.

Where did you get the number 15 from ?

I’m gonna take a guess that there will be +500.000 “setups”

(SockDog) #3

I’d imagine the customisation is fixed as part of the resource budget. Just because time allowed doesn’t mean they could fit in X amount of new content on the DVD. I’d also wonder if the artists etc have equal amounts of polishing and fixing to do during this period, there must be bugs on models, textures, sounds, animations, maps etc that need to be fixed long after the core game is complete.

I meant the archetypes, if you look at the archetypes on the site theres 8 for resistance and 7 for security

(.Chris.) #5

Aren’t they just pre-set combinations?

(Ramziez) #6

Archtypes are kinda like templates. According to the developers there is going to be about as much customization as the original Sims. At least from what I can remember after watching any video with any employee of Splash Damage talking to anyone about anything.

(MatthiasK75) #7

i think in the video, all of the top/bottoms were named after archetypes.
but even IF they are ONLY after archetypes, the top/bottom combos, all the face gear, and the tons of different color options for all of the above still makes a ton of customization

(Schwarzeis) #8

On the Bethesda forum, someone said there will be 10 archetypes for each side (20 different sets all in all), he also said that Olliver had confirmed that the characters on the BRINK Customization preview slider thingy covers about 75% of all the different clothing in the game

I just wonder, is this really true?

There are 10 archetypes per side, which can be used to mix and match combinations for your character(s), according to this quote:

"what we did was, we defined 10 archetypes that all show a different personality in the story, so we have ten strong characters per faction, and then you can mix-and-match everything, so you can make a million different characters from these ten good-looking guys.”

So it is true…

Also, hey, H0RSE, you haven’t been on the Bethesda forum for a while, some of the ‘‘veteran’’ members are worshipping you like some messiah or something :stuck_out_tongue:

time to setup own worship cult, Horsedians:)

(H0RSE) #12

H0RSE is an Agnostic, so they’ll be no cult or worshiping.

(AnthonyDa) #13

At the end of the day you still finish by shooting very slow red/blue glowing characters.

You say veteran in quotations almost with disdain. H0RSE is one of the big brink contributers and those members know it. Nothing wrong with giving respect where it’s due.

(Auzner) #15

It’s too late. The most devout will have two sides. One will white knight you, and the other will mimick your alias and grief under it in order to anger the other group.

Veteran as uber post counters?
Custom servers could give H0RSE’s account admin/ref privileges as the first person to globally prove trustworthiness and dedication to the game.

It was a joke that we started running with. I figured why not

I would think the art team would be touching up areas of maps they felt could have more detail. Plus adding more customization stuff. Possibly they are working on DLC, I dunno. Same goes for the rest of the team i would think - you can always improve things when you have more time.
