(Lockeownzj00) #1

I am almost sure this was posted before, but i searched the forum and couldn’t find.

my customt textures are not working! A frienf of mine told me to include them in the pk3 under textures(the folder name\ then all the files. do htye have to be .tgas? i have them as jpgs right now.

What am I doing wrong?

Can I have clear answers please

Make the width/height powers of 2.

don’t make then powers of 2 - but powers of 64,

eg:

64x64
128x64
256x256

and so on… i had the same problem - drakir told me how to solve it and it worked.

TGA’s are better quality that jpegs but makes the pk3 file bigger. best to stick to tga i think

  1. those aren’t powers of 64 (execept 64 itself). They are multiples of 64.
  2. Textures should be powers of 2, which all of the above are.
  3. Unless something has changed from other q3 games, any power of two should be fine.

It’s STILL not working. And my pk3 program is an ass too–every time I try to update a pk3 it errors so I have to make a NEW bsp and a NEW pk3 and I have to rename everything.

I did the powers of 2 thing.

Why doesn’t anything work for me?

You don’t need to add anything to the pk3, you can just use normal folders then pack it when it’s finished.

I don’t know why the textures aren’t working though sorry. Save your images as 24-bit TGA, that’s what I use it works fine.

Not working. Still. Not. Working.

I have the power of 2s.

I have the bsp, prt, srf, etc.

I have the folder recognized in gtk.

Yet it still doesn’t work.

sigh

Sooo… they work in the editor, but not the game?

Try TGAs… some JPG formats won’t be recognized in ET.
