Custom map: "Flag in the middle"

(Loffy) #1

Hi!
Small fun-map (6 vs 6) based on 8u4dinner’s idea in this thread:
http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?name=pnPHPbb2&file=viewtopic&t=13973

The game-time is set to 10 minutes.
The team that holds the flag when the timelimit is hit, wins.

Uber-skilled brushwork and true WWII “feel”.

oh god another product from the swedish loffy house?
I cant wait!

(Ifurita) #3

What’s the total build time?

Nice map Loffy, one thing though, the game idea seems a bit flawed imo. There’s really no incitement to capture that flag until the last second, so what’s the other 9 1/2 minutes for? I think this map would be helluva much better if you got points for holding it like in king of the hill type games.

Don’t forget to collect your $20

Agree 100% with Lanz there.
Wans’t there a king of the hill map that did that? COunted the time you had possession of the flag.

(Shaderman) #7

Yes: http://returntocastlewolfenstein.filefront.com/file/Stonehenge_King_Of_The_Hill;19191

To win a team must be the first to hold the objective for a total of 5 minutes. Holding for less than 10 seconds does not count. Mines are disabled.

I did King of the hill map also. long time ago.

Yes, I remember now. Great maps.
Then there was a KOTH map with just one building in the centre. 2 floors, and a tunnel in to the basement. Small map. Possession of the flag was key to sucess here too.

Stonehenge is our warm up map of choice at LAN’s ( as well as errols Mountain Radio ) - so we’ll have to add this one too!
