custom door sound

i know i asked this before like… 6 monthes ago on a different forum. But now im asking here

can you make a door play a custom door sound? right now im using trigger_once to activate the door sound but i am sometimes able to trigger to sound before to door opens or able to open the door before the sound plays. It just dosnt feel right when both are not insink (spelling)

the only solution is to add the custom door sound to the door. Does anyone know how???

I don’t think you can unless you run an unpure server.
If you just replace the sound on your machine, you won’t even hear it cause the server won’t allow it. Both server and client must have the same files for it to work.

i’m pretty much a noob but I’m almost sure I know this one :slight_smile:

when you compile your map into a pk3 just add that sound to the pk3 file in a folder called ‘sound’ and then in the editor just reference it ‘sound/yoursound.wav’ try that…if it doesn’t work wait for sock or royal :wink:

Cant u just target a “target_speaker” with the door?

if you use a func_door_rotating for the door then just select it, press N and then key: noise. value: sound/yorsound.wav. and then everytime you open the door you hear the sound

yes yes… iv tried every thing

all of the suggestions that are givin above dont work. What happens is that the sound doesnt play at all or the door doesnt open

i know this is possable to do, iv heard it in one map

You could use a script_mover, with a func_invisible_user to trigger it.
You could also try targeting the door on a target_speaker.

iv tried targeting the door to a target speaker, the door doesnt move
