Custom Crosshairs

(battyJubilee) #1

Hello all,
Not sure if this is the correct section to post, and apologies if it is not. I have wanted to play with a custom crosshair in Dirty Bomb for quite a while, and finally decided today to follow this guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=470015172. Unfortunately, after following it step-for-step, I found that pressing the “insert” key does absolutely nothing (crosshair does not appear). After doing some digging around, I noticed that Kandyrew uploaded a video guide on the matter, and several in the comments section noted that it no longer worked. Does anyone on the forums here have experience on this matter - perhaps offer me some suggestions as to how to make this work? Any potential workarounds?

Thank you all!

@battyJubilee reinstall mumble and it should work, for some reason it doesn’t work the first time for some people.

@Charlie nope

The very first time I installed mumble mine didn’t work either. I just had to re-open it to make it work. Also make sure mumble is open before you open DB. If you open DB first it won’t work. I actually just set my mumble to open when windows starts, because I used to always forget.

QS.Using a custom crosshair is cheating ?[/quote]

stop spreading bullshit mate, its allowed. And how on earth do you have a 6:1 dislike ratio? that takes talent.
@battyJubilee
kelvin711 made a video about crosshairs if mumble doesnt work for u, i nevered watched all of it, but perhaps it’ll help you. But i dont know, just a suggestion if mumble doesnt work for u.

Mumble still works, I use it everyday. Make sure you follow the video step by step and reinstall mumble if you have to. Maybe that will solve your problem.

@Charlie No it’s not. It does not inject anything into the game.

mumble crosshairs are an overlay, like the FPS counters from steam, fraps etc, just instead of an FPS counter on the corner of your screen, its a png of whatever at the center of your screen, that’s all.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=470015172 worked for me, but I did have some issues getting it installed successfully.
At first it installed properly, but the overlay never showed up. About a month later I tried again, and this time it worked. You must restart your computer or else Mumble will not work
