CSG Subtract with cylinders !?

(camel) #1

hi,

i was wondering why CSG Subtract doenst seem to work with cylinders … i think it worked in the early days with some Q2-editors …
is there any config setting that will allow me to do so ?
or how did u guys create “round ceilings” or “round openings” with ladders like on rhine map in the small outpost on the roof ?

You cannot do CSG on patch meshes. Myself, I would avoid using subtract at all.

If you want to make a curve with a hole in it, make it out of several patch meshes. The split and merge patch buttons on the toolbar may be helpful. Use vertex edit (v) to get it into the shape you want. When you are done, make all that patches that touch into a single func_group.
