Crotzni Sawbonez

(SaulWolfden) #1

I feel like I have to force myself to like and get used to this gun since I have potent packs (playing without that perk makes his healing feel negligible to me now) on one of the bronze loadouts I got, but it just isn’t working for me. I feel like unless I’m landing headshots (which with SMGs doesn’t happen often for me), I won’t be getting any kills unless I’m incredibly lucky. I more reliably get melee and pistol kills on Sawbonez than kills with this.

Edit: I should mention I have zero issue getting kills with the SMG Proxy for instance has even though it supposedly does less damage.

Proxy uses Hochfir, which is noticeably more accurate, which gives it advantage on longer distances. You need to counter that.

It’s worth it - Sawbonez CR73 rocks.

I really liked the Crotzni for a long time, but now it’s my 3rd favorite after KEK and Hochfir.

More importantly the Hochfir has almost no recoil. The Crotzni on the other hand has the strongest kick of the SMGs.
By what you describe I would assume that to be the problem. With the Crotzni you gotta compensate recoil. Dragging the aim slightly downwards while shooting. Controlling yourself to shoot only in small bursts, or switching over to ADS. The Crotzni is great if you can control it and manage those first few headshots.

An alternative could be the SMG-9, while its DPS is lower than the Crotznis, it is also a bit easier to control. Not sure how the augments are on the SMG-9 sawbonez loadouts tho.

I think the Sawbonez you describe is one of the top pick mercs/loadouts in competitive. It’s incredibly versatile and powerful and quite easy to play. Maybe u have issues tracking the target. Not to sound condescending but some people are better at strafe-aiming (like with shotguns) and some do better tracking targets(like with smg’s and other full auto weapons, which btw, are possibly “too” easy in this game)

i always pick the blishlok loadout

it also comes with top perks.
unshakeable makes you survive stuff you wouldnt without.
potent packs.
spares.

i used to absolutely hate the blishlok, then it made click and loved it ever since.
it may work better for you than the crozni, perhaps even worse though.

Can’t agree with those “top perks” with no Get Up, which is pretty much the best medic aug you can get. Spares is crap too if your team is good.

The hochfir’s DPS is almost the same as the crotzni’s but it has a much higher RoF, larger mag, less spread increase, and has less horizontal recoil. Basically it’s a better gun than the crotzni in most situations even up close because the higher RoF will hit your enemy with more aimpunch more frequently than the crotzni does.

I’ve been using the crotzni for a long time now but it’s pretty much the same as using other SMGs except you have to ADS more often when you’re spraying at medium and long range. I guess it also has slightly higher vertical recoil than the hochfir too, but let’s be real none of the guns in this game have a significant amount of vertical recoil.

More Training with crotz and u will get the feeling.

Since they decided to add more random spread for the Crotzni there’s no reason to use the CR73 loadout anymore since the SM72 exists. I’d argue that Extra Supplies is better than Potent Packs for him since you’ll be having heals available more often and most of the time the extra heal rate from Potent Packs doesn’t matter.

(Amerika) #10

They changed only the initial spread by 10%. Go fire it at a wall at different distances and check out for yourself how small the spread is when you first fire. It’s hilarious how small the spread is at the start. 10% sounds like a huge change on paper but when put into real play means almost nothing. Changing the initial spread, that is already tiny, by 10% doesn’t have any real impact.

The Crotzni is still great. I’m glad the SMG9 is getting more play now though since it’s a good gun even if people don’t seem to understand why it’s good. And by that I mean it has nothing to do with the Crotnzi nerf and the SMG9 buff.

Honestly, I think the SMG 9 loadout with Get Up, Chopper, Extra Supplies, and the SMG 9 is honestly a tad bit better. And here’s why

More often than not, in trying to heal everyone I run out of packs or just don’t have them available, Extra supplies reduces the cooldown, so I can keep everyone constantly healed and ready to go. Get Up of course is useful, nothing to say there. And as for Mechanic…honestly it’s not my job to be planting, I should be reviving people and keeping them alive.

Plus, with the recent changes, the SMG 9 feels like the more consistent weapon even though it kills a tad bit slower than the Crotzni.

I got a cobalt for this loadout by accident, but I’m actually getting quite used to it.

Do chopper stacks with the Defibrillator Paddles ? It could be fun.

Anyway, I can’t believe I outlooked that loadout. It feels beastly. Gotta try it. What’s your secondary with it ?

That loadout has long been considered the best in regards to augments since extra supplies is so good on Sawbonez and way better than Potent Packs. But the consistency of the Crotzni is hard to leave behind. I do think the SMG9 is excellent though.
