Crotzni nerf

(Jurmabones) #1

Why this gun? Everyone I play with tends to use the Kek-10 over it wherever possible. I even see the Blishlok more than the Crotzni. Personally I still use it, but either way I don’t understand why it was nerfed.

(Sprix) #2

It was nerfed because “Graphs”…No but seriously the last nerf was not neccesary at all since they buffed the rest of the SMG’s to compensate for the “Graphs”.

(Jurmabones) #3

Yeah I never seen anyone complain about the Crotzni being too good, but everyone remarks on the Kek-10 being the go-to SMG. Do the Crotzni right, SD!

The latest “nerf” was a first shot spread nerf, 10% means nothing for the tiny spread on the first shot. After some testing in offine, i can’t say the crotzni’s first shot spread is any different than the other SMGs.
Basically its SD saying “Hey guys we nerfed a thing.” without actually changing all that much.

you’re very wrong.

10% on first shot, means 10% proportionally more on the second shot too - because spread only increases as you keep firing.

Basically, the gun is 10% less accurate.

10% of the starting spread is maybe a single shot extra bloom, and it only increases the starting spread, and nothing else.
SD doesn’t just nerf the first shot bloom, but everything following that, all the time. 10% starting spread is nothing compared to an all shots nerf, because the 10%s stack up as you fire.

That’s not how the nerf worked. It only affected the starting shots and does not affect anything following it so it’s not stacking (I’ve asked). It’s just making the first shot slightly less accurate than it was before and then proceeds as it always did after that in regards to bloom/accuracy/recoil. And the 10% change was changing 10% of something extremely tiny in the first place making it sort of an odd adjustment.

I don’t know why it was nerfed either and don’t agree with it being nerfed as I too have never known anybody to say the Crotzni is “OP”…just that it’s really good. However, I understand how much it was nerfed and it truly was a tiny amount to the point where I don’t know why they bothered and it doesn’t keep me from using it. My only theory is it might be SD attempting to persuade people to use other weapons with paper buffs/nerfs.

Yeah, psychological buffs and nerfs might be a thing

(Jurmabones) #8

How can the first shot be less accurate? Shouldn’t it always land on your cursor?

(Dawnlazy) #9

I don’t know about you guys but I can definitely feel a big difference, remember that they added the 10% nerf on top of another 10% nerf a month earlier. Smg9 feels clearly more accurate.

(Jurmabones) #10

Can anyone explain/answer this to me?

(spicyHarp) #11

First shot still has spread, although it’s very small and impossible to notice at most ranges.

I also did some wall tests, the larger spread on Crotzni is barely noticeable compared to SMG9 up until long range, where you are better off burst firing or ADS. Though crotzni has slightly more recoil.

(Jurmabones) #12

As in, the very first bullet you fire will not necessarily be precisely on your cursor? Am I interpreting this right?

(spicyHarp) #13

Yes, technically it’s possible to miss the shot, but it’s very unlikely.

(Grave_Knight) #14

Isn’t this more of a nerf for trying to use an SMG like a sniper rifle? At CQC (which is what SMGs are for) you probably won’t notice it, but at long range it might be a lot more noticeable.

(Amerika) #15

Yup. They actually nerfed the LMG in the same way a while back. That’s why I’ve pointed out in a few threads that the recent buffs/nerfs, in many cases, are just paper buffs and nerfs. It’s kind of laughable just how little was actually changed despite the percentages being used to make it look like a big change.

(Jurmabones) #16

So more or less you can’t aim for the head unless you’re close otherwise you have a chance of missing your first bullet despite having proper aim. I hate that change but at least it’s not going to make too much of an impact except at mid and long range.

(spicyHarp) #17

The spread is very small, though. You probably won’t have any trouble at mid~long range.
Though at long range you might as well just ADS, as that removes all spread AFAIK.
