Since we’re encouraged to play dirty, can’t imagine anything else that fits the bill better than as hitting someone right 'tween the legs with a cricket bat…Or a close quarter 12ga shot.
Think they should deal a bit less damage than a head shot. Maybe, the same ammount.

So why would I want to do headshots when when I can aim for center of mass for “a bit less damage than a head shot” plus normal damage around that point?

There are two rather large series of games that are dedicated to crotch shots. Call of Duty and Battlefield. I’m cool with how DB incentivizes head shots

I’d also favour keeping headshot only in this game. The head is basically not surrounded by other body parts so it’s promoting risky aiming. And this, considering the speed of the game and the time to kill, is great. Otherwise everyone would aim for the waist.
I remember the old Urban Terror times where there were waist and groin registration, as well as bleeding out mechanics. With the bolt action sniper, waist was 1 out of 2 chance of getting the enemy killed (if he had close cover and reacted quickly enough to bandage himself), and groin was pretty much a guaranteed kill less than a second after the hit. But the game was significantly faster, both in movement speed and time to kill. So I guess this would not fit here in db.
