Crosshair Mumble Overlay not Working with New Anticheat

(KayDubz) #1

Does the new anticheat remove overlays for custom crosshair?

(Nail) #2

mumble for sure, some others seem to work

(KayDubz) #3

which others work?

(watsyurdeal) #4

Oh man…that’s not good

The least they could do is give us an actual dot instead of a square, and the option to offset x and y, since the crosshairs are not properly aligned on the hud

They actually announced it in their most recent news video. This is a known issue, and SD is planning to fix that by giving more personalisation options to their crosshair. They also plan to give an option that allows the crosshair to show up when using the sights.

Apparently PlayClaw overlay is working

I moved from Mumble to Playclaw. Very easy and took about 10 minites. Here are the directions I used from the Dirty Bomb reddit. Credit to user RVRS

First enable the whitelist so it only shows the crosshair overlay on games you want it in:

Close PlayClaw (really close it, from the tray icon menu rightclick > Close)
Go to C:\ProgramData\PlayClaw5plus\
Open playclaw5_config.txt and set misc.enable_whitelist = 1
Open white_list.txt with Notepad and add one line for each whitelisted program. For DB it's just one line with:

ShooterGame-Win32-Shipping.exe

For the crosshair overlay:

You can use the trial for the image overlay, no need to pay
Open PlayClaw again
Enable the image overlay plugin and select the crosshair image you want (should look like this http://i.imgur.com/Ch8mAYi.png)
Sample crosshair for 1080p: http://i.imgur.com/I650xNy.png
Go to C:\ProgramData\PlayClaw5plus\profiles
Open the .txt file of your profile (probably default.txt) and change these settings:

plugin.overlay_image.capture_flags                 = 3
plugin.overlay_image.enabled                       = 1
plugin.overlay_image.fading_hotkey                 = 0
plugin.overlay_image.fading_time                   = 0
plugin.overlay_image.image_transparency            = 100
plugin.overlay_image.link_center                   = 1
plugin.overlay_image.link_left                     =
plugin.overlay_image.link_top                      =
plugin.overlay_image.path                          = <path to image>
plugin.overlay_image.pos_x                         = 0
plugin.overlay_image.pos_y                         = 0
plugin.overlay_image.render_layer                  = 1
plugin.overlay_image.size_x                        = 100
plugin.overlay_image.size_y                        = 100
plugin.overlay_image.spec_size_x                   =
plugin.overlay_image.spec_size_y                   =
plugin.overlay_image.stretch                       = 0

size_x and size_y is the size of your rendered image on screen. You need to put the actual image size there if you don't want the image to be resized to some weird default values. (100, 100 for the sample file)

Another way to get a custom crosshair going is https://rainmeter.net/ .

It only works with borderless window.
But I’m using it for a year now and didn’t have a problem and it still works after the update.
Since mumble doesn’t work I actually decided to pack my Skin for it and put it up on deviant art.

hope that helps someone.

in game, I’m experimenting with “showHUDCentre” when I invoke the console

As someone who cant get mumble to work, you dont understand how much this means: “They also plan to give an option that allows the crosshair to show up when using the sights.”

Very nice, now let’s hope they fix the dot so it’s a dot, not a small square
