Critical errors.

Randomly when you play, your game may freeze, bring you back to the main menu, and show you that error message :

When you click on close, the game quits and you are back to your desktop.

It does not explain anything, it prevents you from finishing games, and this is extremely infuriating. I can’t finish games, I can’t grab cash and hope to unlock a new merc some day, I can’t complete my daily missions, I can’t earn any satifaction from my games, it spoils my whole in game experience, and if you also have that issue it’s surely the same for you.

I tried to find the reason why I got those problem : It seems to happen whatever is your merc and whatever is your weapon. It never happened in specific scenarios. So far I made a steam cache integrity check twice, both times it told me that one file couldn’t be downloaded (and will be downloaded again). So there’s a lot of chance that one file is undownloadable and the fact that you can’t have that file create those random crashes.

Please Splash Damage, fix the issue ASAP.

EDIT : I did a second cache verification right after the second one to check if it was really due to an undownloadable file. May cache was valid. The issue does not seem to be a missing file then.

Small update. I made a cache verification today without even launching DB before, one file was missing (again).

Bumping this. If anyone has the same issue please say it. If someone had the problem before and knows how to fix this please share the solution.

I’ve also experienced a Critical Error; it seems that for some reason, whenever I launch the game, Bushwhacker is priced at 50k Credits/$10.

I get this same issue as well. Pretty frequently. Haven’t been able to determine a cause, I do the integrity verification and get the same message regarding one file.

I have some to, since the start of alpha. It’s rare but frustrating ! Sometime i do not play in stopwatch because it’s long…

I love Executioneer mod, for his gameplay but it’s promise you long game… With crashing it can be more frustrating if you do a great amot of xp and gold.

I begin to wonder if that issue is caused by skype… If someone had the error, can you tell me if you had skype or not ?

Nope no skype here. I found I crash right after a getting a kill, or rarely when I press multiple buttons at the same time.

Now that you’re mentionning that multiple button press, I remember I oftenly got critical errors while trying to switch weapons. Maybe a combinaison of two buttons pressed at the same time triggers it. We definitely need to run some tests.

The devs know about this issue and it has something to do with the Xigncode (anti-cheat).
I was told that it’s going to be (hopefully) fixed in the very near future.

Crashes are so often after last update. I can barely play two games in a row. I can say: “Mission failed…Oh well, you tried (devs)”.

I’ve been getting it quite frequently as well. Hoping it is my Mumble overlay, about to test it. Finally was able to get it disabled.
