Criteria for error: MAX SWITCHED LIGHTS (32)

Because of the problem with lightstyles discussed here, we did a map that has targeted light entities en masse.
So now we get the error “MAX SWITCHED LIGHTS (32) exceeded, reduce the number of lights with targetnames”

Is this a global exceedance, or a per lightmap limit?

I can’t believe only 32 lights can be used like this, or we won’t be able to satisfactory finish our maps :frowning:

iirc, it`s a q3 engine limitation, but I could be wrong

You are limited to 32 unique switch light target names in a map. IE, only 32 different switchable light banks.

If you want an entire map to be lit/unlit, make sure all the lights have the same targetname.
