Crit/headshotting deployables?

I think we can all agree that Bushwhacker turrets and Aura heal stations are bullet sponges. What do you think about the deployables having a weak point that you can crit (much like the head on a body) to take them down at a rate comparable to a player? Is that job better left to the explosives classes like Fragger and Nader?

They should first fix sniper rifle hit registration against deployables. A lot of the time sniper shots just simply don’t register on them no matter where you aim.

I quite like that idea, though it may have to be a small point.

The idea of a sniper being able to take down a gun turret from a distance is cool, but the idea of a sawbones spraying at once and hitting it’s weakpoint is a little less cool.

Perhaps make the points something it’s stragecially difficult to reach;
Ammo stations have a weakspot only visible from directly above, so melee or pistol at close range removes them easily, gun turrets have a weak spot behind them, so you either have to out position them or remove them the old fashioned way, etc.

Though, as far as bullet sponging deployables go, it appears that sometimes they simply fail hit detection, shots hit them but don’t deal damage.
