Crew Server MG42

I tried to change the Crew served MG42 model for my mod, but I ran in some trouble.
I wanted it to be animated just like the normal ET weapons (in this case a spinning barrel much like the Venom)
But the crew served MG42 doesnt use a .weap file or does it??
Is it possible to make this thing animated like a normal ET weapon? (even if this mean changing the source code)
And does anybody know how??

You could take a look at the RTCW Wild West mod.
They have a Gatling gun as far as I remember.

I check that, and they have a venom like weapon indeed, but not crew served.
The crewserved “MG42” are just static.

Well, I guess it’s impossible.

You could simply use PERS_HWEAPON_USE in the code then implement your animated model that way.

Thought they have them in a map that is a remake of beach.

The map is named wild west beach.

i seriously doubt that

just because its not easy, it sounds like this is very posible, after all the mg42 is a game model and so can be animated. it will just need a hell lota code in clinet side for animation etc

That is a remake of the beach and that is NOT an gun with a rotating barrel ^^ (I installed the mod myself and played all the maps.
They use the same model in everymap and it’s kinda like a wooden cylinder that spits bullets, but nothnig rotating.

again good poinments:
look in RTCW code how easy is rotating barrel on venom
you may look on falckonet how do i added firstperson model for mg42, but it isn’t as simple and thirdperson one is still same and i doubt it will be easy for you to add rotating barrel there
just look in rtcw how do they that, then add similar to mg42

Do you mean the mobil MG???
Cause that is a different story then the crew served one.
The crew served uses only 1 model for both 1st person as 3rd person.
And the crew served model does NOT use a .weap file to cfg those models a little or to add 2 models together to make 1.

And neither Falckon Et or RTCW uses this for the crew served MG42 now do they?

falckonet uses firstperson model as well that was why i was pointing to there , but really just add new refent , copy venom spin code, use it on new refent and then just attach it on tag you will add on your mg
it isn’t easy for begginers in coding however
