Credit earn Rate was good before.

I know a fair amount of people enjoy earning things faster or perma unlocking characters in advance. However for me in a game that doesn’t have that many if we think ( 12 ) characters its hardly going to take any hours at all to unlock them at this rate.
I find the match times to be quite short which makes the credits rack up pretty quickly already. If I think about it now without any serious calculations you get anywhere between 1500-2000 credits an hour without the daily’s bonus with a fair amount of crates in addition to that. I don’t have a comparable fps f2p to calculate against. Yet I have played class/character unlocking online titles that easily require x3 times the amount of time with dailies systems to unlock new characters, of which there are many more available. Considering that we are also getting new loadout cards pretty regularly admittedly not always for the class we want to play but with the trade up system there is some leeway. The length of match times make it feel to me that after even an hour of play that no time has passed at all really.

If your dedicated to doing your dailies each day including the earn 14-16k xp ones your probably earning up to 4.5k credits and 4-8 or more crates at the current rate. Considering how fun a chunk of us find the game its a pretty rewarding rate already. At most this is around 90 minutes. Now for some you can feel I don’t want a routine but for me its a rewarding bonus each day I play. I do love playing every day.

I know a fair chunk of people might think what’s the point in making a post like this but I think its fair to let the developers know that some people out there were pretty happy with how it was before. I already think personally compared to other titles they are very lenient. & if unlocking was any quicker I wonder if it would damage their business model.

Your calculations are off. No way you’re gonna get 4-5k credits in 90min of play.

4~5k a day more like…

I do not work for Splash Damage. I do however work on other games so I talk from a both the perspective of a gamer and as a developer myself. I’m also a long time studio fan, former top tier player in both Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (Previous highest rank held no1) & Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

I am not the elite player I once was with my reactions slowing down and my eyesight not up to par. So whilst my score might be higher then average this shouldn’t inflate my credit turn out to much.

This is why your post is wrong - you’re misinformed.

The total sum of credits you get at the end of a game are coming from three things. (4 if you count the daily bonusses)

About 80% is for just playing the match. This is based on time.
About 15% is based on wether you win or lose.
About 5% is based on your EXP.

The shorter the matches are, the smaller the 80% number will be. So if matches are short, you’ll get a lot less.

If anything, the rates are still low as hell. You’re lucky if you think you can get 1k an hour. I get around 130 to 150 per 10 minute round, take or give. 200 should be at 10 minutes, or they should make a few mercs 10k.

Remember, we’re starting with 7 Mercs, with 2 already unlocked, and 2 that change freely. When we start hitting 20 or 30 mercs, and we get new players, we don’t want to send them screaming away because they can’t buy the mercs they really want.

When this game hits open beta, it won’t be long till Overwatch hits it’s closed beta. It has to GRAB players at that time, get them invested in this game. If Overwatch ends up launching F2P, and goes the same direction as Hearthstone and HotS, with daily missions being the primary earners, and ridiculous prices on everything, they’ll likely stay with this game if they have an attachment/earn enough while here.

Not to mention arming your mercs. Equipment cases are decently priced, but trading up is richy rich as heck.

You can pretty much do the math yourself, look at the post-game screen where the amount of credits are shown. It gets broken up into 3 parts, all three have names next to them to tell you where it’s coming from.

I feel like SD should remove the time variable from the ‘playing the match’ one amd just make it fixed. Instead, they should add a 4th factor based on time played.

Also, the EXP -> credits conversion rate is ridiculously low for a competitive shooter. (beta or no beta)

Another game dev here, and I also think that the game is extremely generous. Probably not a coincidence.

I guess it’s normal and expected that gamers would rather have more free stuff, although I do wish sometimes that the community would be a bit more nuanced in this regard. But I also believe that the developers have a handle on this and know what to make of the feedback.

I mean short compared to other online titles where matches last 40-50 minutes upwards. For a similar ratio in currency reward against the scale. The rate feels fast paced cause it is not necessary to sink large amounts of my evening into completing the daily. Which is easily one of the quicker ones.
Earlier today I won a match in 7 and half minutes and got 280 credits. The next guy in slot got 270.

you sure you didn’t join a SW game mid-game?

(Kuko) #13

That today was playing objective and I stayed on the same server for my entire play through duration. Even when losing the credits were pretty similar.

Actually in all the games where I checked, the Win Bonus was exactly 30% of the “Base Fee” credits.
