Credit Boosters - Do You Buy Them? Would You If...

(LCTR) #1

Hi all,

I don’t know anyone who buys Credit Boosters for normal play.

However, during the last Double Credit Weekend I - like a lot of people - did buy a Booster because it stacked with the doubled Credits. It makes sense to me then, it seems to make sense to other people too - it’s 4x Credits.

Would you be inclined to buy a Credit Booster if they were normally 4x Credits BUT they didn’t stack with a Double Credit Weekend? I’m guessing the price would have to increase too…

That way you could effectively “buy” a Double-Credit-Weekend-effect whenever you wanted.

Anyone have any thoughts on that idea?

I must of earned over 80k over the weekend with 2x XP +booster. And still got time ticking down on that thing as well xD. Not sure i would now that i own all the mercs…unless there were additions worthy of earning credits added to the store.

I bought one, I think I made enough to buy a merc so that worked out considering the booster was like $2.50 on sale I think.

I’ll be honest, one thing good about the credit booster is it should hopefully make people play more team oriented because they want more XP. I rarely see a Vasili with 10,000+ XP but if I play Aura I hit over 10,000 on any decent match up.

@LCTR

I would only ever consider buying a credit booster if it were to be the same as in Heroes of the Storm. 15$ for a whole month double credits.

If credit boosters gave the same amount of boost (ie. 4x) that they did on the double credits weekend, then sure! I’d buy them all the time - I’d even buy them if they doubled the time for the price (ie. 6 hours becomes 12, 12 hours becomes 24, etc.), which is effectively the same thing, it just takes longer to get the credits.

But right now, the prices are pretty silly for just a few hours

I was use that when i play all days or join credit event.
In the other situation, no credit but really want it.

@LCTR If they also slashed the price in half, yes. That would bring them on par on the money to credit ratio with other items in the shop.

Credit boosters aren’t worth it, even if you double the amount you get.
From mercs and loadouts, we can derive, that 1€ equals 5000 credits.
A 6 hour credit booster gives you 4320 (6x60x12) extra credits and costs you 2.99€.
That’s 1445 credits per 1€. So you’re paying 3,46 times as much for your credits than your cheapest possible option.

Now if you double the amount of credit boosters, they’re still lacking behind the direct buy options by a mile. (1,73x as much as buying mercs/loadouts directly)

Conclusion: Don’t believe their lies.

But what if you have all mercs and buy it only because you wanna do a bunch of trade-ups/trade-ins in high rarity? You cannot just buy smth like a 50000 credit bucket.

The only time I consider buying one is during double credit weekends. If they cost half as much or lasted twice as long, I’d consider buying them more often. Mostly I just buy them as my token “Well, you’re not selling a single desirable thing but I’ve played your game for hundreds of hours… I guess I should buy something”.
