Crates for all

I got sick of seeing people rotate brush work crates, only for the textures to mess up. And forget resizing, as you’ll have to retexture each side.

So, I made each crate (5 in all), and exported them as ASEs.

You can get them here: http://www.hummerdesign.com/prefabs/crates/hummer_crates.zip

When you use them, set the spawnflags to 2, so they are clipped. They’ll make the wood sound too, since they’re using the crate shaders anyway.

Crates are now easy to resize, rotate, etc. They’re aligned to the grid as well, so the’ll match other crates you have. However, all sides have textures, so if you’re doing a row of crates, don’t use these models… these should really be used for accent pieces

heh, cool/ But if you want to keep texture from brushed-box, you can just use “scale” and it will work fine. But this is a good idea, thanks

Yeah… this is more for rotated crates than anything else

You can still do arbitrary rotation…but anyway…!

Right… but the textures get have a tendancy to get screwed up, and the vertecies on the brushwork get skewed.

Last time i reply so as not to spam up the thread…in my experiences, this hasn’t happened. But thank you for making these models, as they will be very useful.

How did you export them exactly?

Hummer is right on about the texture problems in rotation. I actually created my own ase crates a couple of weeks ago for the same reasons. A must download for any mapper!

Do an -convert… turns any map file into .ase
