I just compiled my map, and opened up ET with /sv_pure 0 ,/g_gametype 2 and /devmap mapname. The map loads up fine, and gets to the spectator camera, but when I press L to go into limbo menu, the game freezes, and will not close in WinXP Pro. I have to press ctrl+alt+del to bring up task manager to manually close this. Afterwards, my gamma is all screwed up and I have to reboot. I have ran through other maps before fine, so I can’t figure out what is going wrong…
Crashing when walking through map...
if u crashes in limbo is because u haven`t the mapcordsmins and mapcordsmaxs in ur worldspawn
mins are the upper left points of ur map x,y
maxs are the lower rigth points of ur map x,y
i hope this help

Thanks everyone, I somehow missed that. However, during compiling, I got a leak and fixed it (had an entity outside of coordinates). Compiled again, and everything worked fine. I went to run it again, and it got to the map loading screen, then froze. Again, my gamma is screwed up afterwards. I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I used a prefab in my map, but it was just the basic brushes, etc… I retextured everything in sdradiant and it seems to be in working order. Any ideas?
ok, when the map failed to load correctly type : condump maploadfailed.txt in the console
and copy the txt file to here, u can find it in the etmain folder
I can’t get to the console, the game totally freezes, and I have to ctrl+alt+delete to bring up task manager, and manually close the game. Afterwards, the gamma on my system is totally messed up, and I start lagging hardcore, necessitating a reboot.
I can’t rememebr the command offhand, but you should be able to add a command to the etconfig.cfg file to enable logging. Then after it crashes, go to your et folder and view the et.log file. It should have error messages you can paste here formroe info.
Sorry I can’t remember the command, hopefully one of the SD boys will give us both a reminder.
As a side note - have you tried waiting? Usually when it hangs on loading, it will hang for about 10-15 seconds then display an error message.
EDIT:
AHA found it: Enter this line into your etconfig.cfg file (anywhere should do):
set g_log 1
then run ET and make it crash. Then in your folder there should be a file called etconsole.log. Paste it’s contents here for us to peruse.
