Crash following the last maintenance (03/11/2016)

(globalGecko) #1

Hello Everyone,

Since the last maintenance (03/11/2016) my game crash everytime. 1 to 2 minutes after starting a party the game crash with a different log/bug report each time.
I tried some solutions but nothing.

The game worked perfectly before the maintenance.
Have you been informed about a same problem?

Same for me, game is running fine for a few minutes, then it stop to work.
Already had performance issues with this game before, fixed them with some config tweaks, now this…

Specs:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
Mainboard: Asus X99A
Ram: 16GB ddr4@Quadchannel
CPU: i7 5820k @ 4,3GHz (1.25Vcore)
GPU: Zotac AMP! Gtx 980
SSD/HDD: Evo 850 250GB/Seagate 1TB

Same problem here, can take 1 minute to 15 minutes before it crashes to the desktop…
I also did load the latest official nvidia drivers (through ‘nvidia experience’) for my GTX760 that same evening, so I don’t know if it’s just the game that’s buggy due to the latest update or it’s a combination of the latest driver with the latest update… Wednesday I played for a couple of hours without a hitch, but after the update friday and saturday it kept crashing every once in a while…

I tried to reinstall the game… same situation. Like SuperDre I don’t know if this issue is following the last driver update or game update.

(globalGecko) #5

I found the solution. Disable G-sync technology …

To solve for the next update

No sorry, Bad solution… the crashs were less close to each other… but still present

@globalGecko I recommend you using the edit function at the top right of your post.
That way you don’t have to post another time to add something.

Same thing happening to me, rarely make it through a single round without crashing, errors started 3/12/2016.
CPU - i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz
GPU - Radeon HD 6800
RAM - 32gb
SSD(windows) - Corsair 256gb
HDD(game) - Toshiba 7200rpm 1tb

I’ve had to stop playing the game, i have reinstalled, verified game files, updated all drivers (tested beta drivers as well), no improvement. Please fix this, i really did like playing dirty bomb…

Windows errors very generic:

Faulting application name: ShooterGame-Win32-Shipping.exe, version: 1.0.55706.0, time stamp: 0x56e6bc22
Faulting module name: DINPUT8.dll, version: 6.3.9600.17415, time stamp: 0x54504929

I at first thought my crashing was due to the god awful Nvidia drivers they released, but apparently this isn’t the case since I even rolled my drivers back.

The crash is a “Dity Bomb has stopped working” deal.

Windows 8.1
GPU - GTX 950 2gb
CPU - I3-6100
Ram - 8 GB

After the day they started, I’ve crashed in every single game, at first it was stopwatch and I figured “Oh this won’t happen if I choose a shorter match type”. Happened in the last or second to last round of an Execution match I just was in that I joined in progress. It was fine for the few rounds I played until I crashed.

I’ve never had any crashing issues on my laptop that was worse than this computer nor had I had any crashing issues on this computer with Dirty Bomb until now.

Followup, upgraded vid card with no change:
Motherboard: Asus CM6870 (notice someone else using an Asus mobo as well, could be something)
GFX: GTX 960 4gb
Reinstalled onto SSD (no change)

Not sure if this is related or unrelated but when verifying integrity of game files there are ALWAYS 2 files it picks up as bad(saw another thread about this as well), buddy has that happen as well without the same issues we are all seeing.

Opened a support ticket (174536) and have only received an initial response asking me to use windowed mode(already ruled out, immediately responded as such), no more communication from the ticket now for 3 days. Is this normal?

Not feeling the support love on this one and it is making the game totally unplayable.

EDIT
Played again and this has not resolved it /sigh

Have not fully confirmed this as a fix, but every time I crashed I would tweak some setting and have had a successful streak as of last night. I made it through probably 7 rounds straight, closed the game out normally and played another 2-3 rounds and closed out normally again with no crashes yet. Figured I would share to give people ideas of things to try (I know I’m at my wits end trying to get this to work again)

I have had steam overlay disabled for sometime now and re-enabled it as a test, it is enabled currently and doesn’t actually seem to work for some reason (again not sure what settings here helped)

Current settings:

HUD (View):
Sprinting FOV: Off
View Bob: Off
View Arms Momentum: Off
Camera Animations: Off

HUD (Screen Effects):
Blood: Off
Lensflare & Dirt: Off
Menu: On

Video Settings (Screen):
Windowed: Borderless
V-Sync: Off
Resolution: 1920x1080

Video Settings (Advanced):
Preset: Super
Thread Sync: On
(Interesting sidenote on this, after changing the graphics to Super I was no longer able to click on anything when in a game lobby or when bringing up the leaderboards in a server, upon closing out the game and restarting it this went back to working)

Was playing on a 6v6 server last night as well when I was able to keep playing, normally I play 8v8 exclusively, so maybe try playing a smaller server and see if that is a key factor as well.

I don’t know that this is truly a fix, but I had success last evening and will play again this evening and see if I can replicate things working the way they should. Hope this helps some of you.
