PLS Help I’m goin’ nuts here

(Crispy) #3

When does Brink give you that error?

Are you able to watch the Developer/Publisher/Legal screens before it happens?

(RoyalZombie) #4

I have the same problem. I’ve got similiar hardware as you. Radeon HD 4870 card and AMD Phenom II x6 CPU.

Brink crashes when I get to the character select screen or after I’ve selected one.

Even though I’ve reinstalled the game (removed every file connected to the game, even cleaned the registry), reinstalled Steam + the game again, tried compability mode, turning my virus scanner off, installed every hotfix there is etc, it still doesn’t help.

(McLeod2k) #5

The crash comes 3-10 seconds after the second splashdamage picture shows up(to explain:start game via game window in windows 7> splash damage picture >steam starts> second time splashdamage Picture comes> crash)

To make it clear: I cannot START the game

Edit: When I start via Steam the Crash comes directly 3 seconds after the splashdamage-Picture is shown

(Papanowel) #6

Welcome on board McLeod, some people here have the same problem  and nobody find a proper solution.

[ol]
[li]With Steam currently closed, you navigate to the Games Explorer for Windows 7
[/li][li]You locate Brink and double-click the icon

[/li][li]Steam starts
[/li][li]The same BRINK picture as before again briefly appears
[/li][li]Without any new windows opening or anything else on screen, BRINK crashes

If so, can you answer these questions:

[li]When BRINK crashes is there any error message? If so what does it say?
[/li][li]In …\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\brink are there any minidump (MDMP) files?

(McLeod2k) #9

The game crashes with the window “Brink stopped working, searching to solve the problem” it’s a Windows error-window.

Sorry for my bad english
