CPU usage?

(Crytiqal) #41

I didn’t say I have a single core server, but when I have 2 etqw servers active the cpu load of only 1 core wasn’t above 80%.

So I would need to dedicated 2 cores from my server and 2 gig RAM just for 1 Brink server?

PS: I did a benchmark with server filled both to 23 bots and have a person on each server to make sure the bots weren’t sleeping.

I didn’t say you would need it, I guessed that it would be the best scenario for a lag free server

(Crytiqal) #43

Well, I hope it could run with less resources tho.
I want to run 2 Brink servers on 1 core if possible. (It’s only 8 vs 8 max and no vehicles…)

(Nail) #44

will probably be restricted by your upload bandwidth more than CPU

(AnthonyDa) #45

Nice to guess something where you have NO CLUE about it.

(Nail) #46

aww, knickers in a twist ?

I use dual core for servers, less problems all around, what do you use O great IT tech ?

(badman) #47

Let’s not jump on someone who’s trying to be helpful here.

Yeah but it’s Nail, it’s not a big deal :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t see why crytical should lose more time reading Nail post since it’s only speculation. Crytical is already running multiple ET:QW server at home, so he knows that his bandwidth is OK.
He should just wait for the game release and see if the game is being ultra laggy when he is running 2 instance of the game server on the same PC. There is no point to discuss about such a technical point on a pre-beta (?) software. There is no informations about BRINK hardware requirement, which was the original question from Crytical, period. :stroggbanana:

“The engine that BRINK is using is a whole new engine based on fresh idtech4 engine. It’s not etqw engine tweaked again.”

something like this useless ill informed post ?

“Yeah but it’s Nail, it’s not a big deal”

O’RLY ?

Well thanks for being honest and clear about it
I’ll guess I just have to wait and see.

I’ll just thank Nail for his effort to help asswell :stuck_out_tongue:

Greetings,
